rush1958 reacted to Dknal2 in 3 month Surgiversary ( with pics?)
I am so proud to say that I am now 3 months post op. I ventured into this foreign land called the gastric sleeve on Dec 5, 2016. I was nervous yet ready to have a new beginning in life. A healthier life that was more fulfilling without illnesses and aches all the time. Well, this 3 months has been a true roller coaster but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I started my journey out at 242 lbs pre- op. On the day of my surgery I was down to 219 lbs with the help of my dietician( I was very serious about my dietician's recommendations on diet changes ). When I awoke from surgery, I was so confused and in so much pain . I immediately regretted surgery,, lol. But after a couple of days I started to embrace my new lifestyle. I am 3 months out and today I am 176 lbs.....yayyy. Double screen pic was right after surgery and then 1 month after surgery and pics in white are most recent.

It is probably water.. I doubt you're eating enough to re-gain that amount as fat..

Against typical advice here, I weigh myself everyday.. most times just to amuse myself.. I fluctuate between 3-4 lbs every 2 days. I only assess myself with my weekend weight.

This entire time I've been beating myself up because I feel like I either haven't lost as much as I feel as though I should have...or I'm not seeing enough changes. And then I compare pictures like this! Slowly but surely I'm getting there!!! About 10lbs more until I get to my short term goal!

Fellow sleevers unite! I remember you all, surfing through these forums for hours worried about my surgery but excited for the potential health and physical change. Now I'm on the other side almost 5 months out and want to share my story with those that are waiting in anticipation or a few days out wondering whats next. I was sleeved on 09/29/2017. At my surgery I weight 363 and my weight when I started the liquid diet was 380.4. I think I ended up topping out somewhere around 387 in the days or weeks before the liquid diet. As of this morning I weight 273.8. So roughly 107 lbs in 5 months. I'll take it! Size wise I am currently a 38 waist, and XXL top. I was a 46/48 waist and 4XL a few short months ago. My overall goal is 225 (I'm 6'2). Here is my lame attempt at a Letterman style top ten list but backwards. Time flies, enjoy the ride, and the compliments

Losing weight is cool. Growing saggy man skin tits not.
Pretty Pimpin’ by Kurt Vile is on my sleeve journey mix tape.
Its great being able to sit in a chair and not worry about breaking it.
I used to love Soup. That was before eating it everyday for 4 weeks.
Only fat people wear fitbits. I wore mine, and it was stupid. I've never seen any active person actually wearing one. I probably exercise more without it.
You can weigh yourself everyday. I did, its OK. First thing in the morning, post dump, post shower. I’m suprised I haven’t gone through a costco size pack of AA batteries.
Levi’s that aren’t loose or baggy fit = AWESOME!
I am no longer that fattest person everywhere I go, There are a crapload fatter than me.....I know as I just got back from Disney.
Sex gets better with every 20 lbs.
    Holy shit, I’m not sweating!

I was given a prescription for oxycodone when leaving the hospital. I filled it, but never used any. I found Tylenol was all I needed for a couple of days. After that I didn't need anything.

I started retaking regular Vitamins one week after surgery. My doctor was OK with taking regular pills as long as I could swallow them. At two weeks out I added Calcium pills too. I didn't have any issues.

I've been sleeved for about month now, but I'm a throat cancer survivor. I've had surgery, chemo and radiation. I can tell you from experience that this trifecta combination was the most effective diet I ever experienced. I lost 97 pounds in about four months. I had the sleeve done because after seven years I had gained that 97 pounds back.
You didn't mention the type of cancer you have. That said, I think you're going to discover that everyone's cancer experience is different. A treatment and / or side effects that bother one patient may not have any effect on another.
For example, most people with my type of cancer have difficulty swallowing from the radiation burns and from the chemo. They put a PEG tube into the stomach so that you can be fed. In my case there was never an issue with swallowing. The worst part of the experience for me was the feeding tub and some associated chemo nausea.
Hang in there. Cancer treatments can sometimes be rough, but they are doable. Cancer is beatable. I was a stage IV in 2010 and was declared cured n 2015. You can do it! Kick cancer's butt!

This day cannot get here soon enough. I look at pictures and cry. I don't even recognize the woman in the photo. I want my life back. I put myself on a 2 week pre-pre-op Diet. Lean meats and vegetables. I start my liquid diet the day after Christmas. I am literally counting down the days.
