I am having my sleeve surgery in June. I have been feeling so up and down about it..one minute I can't wait, the next, I am scared to death. Well, today was yet another reminder as to why I AM doing this. I work with 2 yr olds, I was sitting on a little chair while the kids were playing. The toy they were playing with came apart, and I needed to get on the floor to fix it. I could not figure HOW I was going to get from the chair to the floor. It's the first time that has EVER happened to me. I ended up kinda falling off the chair onto the floor. I NEVER want to feel that shame and humiliation again!!!!

I do! I am militant about everything that goes into my body and my routines that are necessary to support my goals. I eat around 1000 calories per day; I keep my carbs below 20 grams per day; I keep my Protein at a minimum of 100 grams per day; I drink 120 oz of Water each day, and I walk a minimum of 5 days per week.
I had my surgery September 28, and I have lost 161 pounds so far (99 pounds during my six-month pre-op diet program and 62 pounds since the surgery). That is 75% of my excess weight gone and I just hit the 4 month mark on Saturday.

So you know the whole "mic drop" thing? Hubby and I use cloth napkins with napkin rings. Tonight after, once again, I ate a third of my dinner, I put my napkin in the ring, held it up, and dropped it on the table. "Napkin drop."

I refused to be in pictures for the last few years but had a similar moment when I saw myself in a full sized mirror at the dog groomers. I think a lot of us are in some denial and at some point something just snaps you out of it. even when i saw the occasional photo of myself id think, "oh it's just a bad angle".
realizing there's a problem is always an important step in getting better. good luck at your WLS appt. you're on your way now!
