  1. When I first had my surgery, my doctor told me that I should expect to feel as if all I was doing was drinking water. Because it would be that hard to meet my daily dosis. That is exactly how it felt. Like all I was doing 24/7 was drinking water. It does get better with time. I promise! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Dr. Miguel Burch at Cedars. He did my Sleeve and then my conversion to RNY. I needed to convert because of severe GERD that developed after my VSG. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have! I'm in Sherman Oaks alsoMy surgeon was Dr. Feiz. His team and all the staff was just amazing. He is in BH but performs surgery in Valencia and Santa Monica. I have no clue about the costs, since he dealt directly with the insurance company. I had a $1k copay Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

I was 215 pre-op and about 2 weeks ago I weighed 184. So I have lost about 31 pounds. I am out of town for the holidays and I am not setting foot on a scale until I get back home in 2 more weeks. But I am exercising a lot and eating pretty healthy so I can only assume that I have lost a bit more weight. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

I wrote a long comment and then lost it lol. I was suggesting my surgeon, Dr. Feiz he is BH but he does surgery in Valencia and at UCLA in Santa Monica or Westwood. I also have Blue Shield/ Blue Cross PPO and he worked with my insurance and it was a very smooth process. You can call him and discuss with him or his team. I am 3 months after surgery and I doing well. Did not have any complications and to the contrary it was a very safe and speedy recovery. Now I am just working on keeping a healthy diet and choosing wisely. Good luck again and keep us posted. Oh one more thing, I joined a program for people with eating disorders and it has been helping me a great deal. Learning to address your emotional needs and not just eat. 9. Hi All, so my doctor said it could have been constipation and to take an over the counter laxative. I did, and literally it was life changing. I have never needed laxatives so I was a bit hesitant. I felt so much better after and sure enough 2 days later I was 5 pounds lighter. I guess there is so much to learn through this process. Thank you all for the support. I was devastated, now I feel much better. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  10. I am writing this post as I am waiting to see my doctor for my 1 month follow up. When I got my sleeve (9/21/2016) I was 215 pounds, when I came to my 1 week post op appointment I weighed 201.6 and I thought wow this is just incredible. I am here for my 1 month post op appointment and I weight 202. How is that possible? The other day I weighed myself at home and was 196 and got pretty excited, sure enough 2 days after I was 199. So I decided to not weigh myself and wait until my appointment. So here I am... waiting for my doctor to figure out what is going on. Have any of you gone through this within a month of your surgery? I am a bit disappointed and actually really sad right now. Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Thank you @@Lori Orr. I am staying positive! I think I can do this... it is not easy, but I know I can.One of my mom's best friends is a therapist that specializes in therapy for people that go through loss weight surgeries. I talked to her today and she was sooooo helpful. I think it helped me with a lot of my fears. I need to find a therapist ASAP, I think that would make a world of difference. Thank you again and good luck to you too! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  13. Hi Christina, I am also diabetic. That is the main reason why I had this surgery to help me with my sugar. Since surgery, about a week ago, my sugar reads are between 100 - 130, although today after some soup I had a 170 read.I am really hoping the surgery will help with this. When did you start seeing progress? Or a real "permanent" change in your sugar? Thank you very much for your input! Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App I was on Metformin before surgery which kept my blood sugars just barely acceptable. 120-130 fasting. and after surgery with Metformin out of the picture they stayed about the same to slightly lower as they had been prior to surgery with the medication. within a few months they were excellent with no medications. I haven't checked a fasting level in a couple of months but the last time I checked it was right around 100/ at 3 months my A1c was down to 6.1 and at six months it was at 5.4..... being able to eat fruit and maintain normal blood sugars is amazing to me! My medical record no longer lists me as being diabetic. I hope you enjoy the same success. That is amazing! Hopefully I could get mine under control. Thanks again and Good luck!
