Congrats on getting your surgery date!!! Isnt it exciting? I was counting the days for mine. I hated the 2 weeks pre-op liquid diet. I bought Biotene spray for the dry mouth. It helped alot!!! Just make sure you dont swallow it until after the sip test. For BM i bought Fiber gummies. I'm sure they have the powder for Water. It helped alot as well. I also took Gas-X strips for my hospital stay but I didnt use them because I had no gas pain. Anyways good luck!!!

Everyone makes mistakes it ok, you shouldnt feel upset about yourself. Just as long as u recognized you were in the wrong and the fact that you feel guilty is a good sign. My surgeon made me go on puree foods the day I got out of the hospital so every surgeon is different. I personally think you will be fine. Take Fiber chews or the powder Fiber. It helped me alot to do a BM after surgery. Im 1 1/2 mnths out, I'm on solid foods now. I hope everything is good with you. best of luck to you!!

There will always be more Christmases with all the same favorite holiday foods you're used to but you will never have another chance to get this right. Get it right Now. The amount you ate is about what I might eat now 2 yrs post-op, but I would never have dared at 6 days out. And trust me, once you start breaking little rules, you break more rules and it's all downhill from there. I'm currently fighting back some recent weight gain that I know is due to completely poor food choices. A chip here and there was no big deal or a 1/4 c of dessert on an occassion. But then every third day was an occassion, then every stressful day at work was a occassion, now the people at the bakery know me by name and I'm up 15 stupid pounds and the thing is-chocolate tasted gross for months after surgery but I almost forced myself to eat it because I felt deprived on some level. But I wasn't and you aren't either. Trust me, some day you will get to Sample and taste all of those foods again, but not now and not altogether as a mini-feast. You survived this ordeal but Stop It Right Now-the disappointment you feel now will not even compare if you sabotage this amazing and severe step you have taken. If I could undo all the cheetos and macaroons of the past 2 months I would-my life would be the same but my clothes would fit a hell of a lot better. I didn't need them and I don't. Catch yourself now and put it an end to it, letting this be a lesson and not an "well I did it the one time and it was okay so . . ." One time makes two times okay and three and so on.... Anyway, congratulations on surgery and stick with the liquids. If pudding is a trigger then get rid of it.6 days out of surgery I was eating 1/3 cup of pureed bean Soup at the very most or a 1/3 scrambled egg...

I definitely recommend taking Biotene mouthwash with you to the hospital. You can't have anything by mouth the first day, not even ice chips...well I couldn't anyway. The worst thing going was dry mouth, especially having to get up and walk so much. The Biotin will help tremendously. Good luck with everything

I am having my surgery on Jan 30th and I want to be prepared with what I will need for dry lips , dry skin and possible issues with bowel movements. I'm sure my surgeon will tell me but I would just like to see what others have used . Thank you

I was just sleeved on 10/13 and I'm Clear Liquids for another 4 weeks. Been able to sip on a little more than 100ml per hour. Not much pain at all and didn't have gas pains in the hospital at all. Now developed a little different feeling...fullness, I think. Stomach still swollen and up pounds since my surgery date. But I know with time that will go down. I'm just super excited to start eating healthy again...with time. (What's gonna feel like forever) The not hungry feeling is weird. I have an 8 year old who I cook for and actually have no problem cooking or watching her eat. Don't get me things look good, but I just don't care to eat it. Well I hope you keep us posted @@mellsztavv

I'm only 5 days post op and am suppose to be on clear liquids for 3 weeks, but on day 3 post op I needed something that wasn't sweet tasting and ate a little cottage cheese. I was afraid I'd really messed up but I never got sick or felt bad, just felt good and satisfied! Glad to see someone else can eat real food so soon after surgery, just wish my Doc would approve!

Quitting smoking was not a requirement for my surgeon to do the sleeve, but I'm trying my hardest since I had to quit for 36 hours in the hospital. Last night I was about to peel my own skin off. It is HARD. Most people gain weight when they quit because they eat more to compensate, we don't even have that option!

Hi, I had the lapband done in 2013 and had it taken out because I had no restriction whatsoever. I just got sleeved on the 11th! I also developed a hiatel hernia. I had to her my gallbladder removed because of my lapband. So far the sleeve has been the best choice i have ever made for a revision.

hey, I got sleeved on 10/11 and I walked around the hospital without pain meds or the IV pole attached to me. I have/had no gas pains whatsoever the other patients were shocked and the nurses were like how are u so happy and not in pain. I tolerated my foods. I'm doing well at home and my incisions are healing fine. Thank God!!! I see my doctor this week. So listen theres nothing to be paranoid. Not everyones body is the same!

For some odd reason I can only tolerate the chocolate flavored one. It goes down easier. Never tried the other flavors except for strawberry cream... idk but I can't tolerate it. I also eat the tuna packs, i pick the lemon pepper one and that little pack has 18g of Protein and I add a little bit of non fat greek yogurt and its amazing. You can do it!!!! I do get pains tho, not my incision sights or gas but the stapleline inside my stomach. I drink Pepcid for acid so it doesnt bother me as much and I drink tramadol for pain but that also makes me sleep all day so I only drink half. But let me know how it goes!!!

Hi Everyone ????. I am so excited to have joined the sleevers after an unsuccessful journey with the Lapband. I am 4 days post op. Boy has it been exciting!!! I just wanted to share my experience so far with people who are soon getting sleeved. I was informed of this app via a new friend I met at the course our hospital was having for the bariatric patients. I was soo happy when he showed me this app and read all the post op successful stories and was like Yes!!!! I can finally find someone I can ask for advice! My hospital experience was like no other. I had no gas pains whatsoever. I walked my rounds every two hours without my IV pole. Everyone that got sleeved or banded that day were in shock because I was not in pain. I didnt get to have morphine on my side because I became known of my allergies to it when I got banded in 2013. So instead I got Dilaudid. Boy did I lol . At least for 2 hours. I took with me to the hospital the Biotene spray for "dry" mouth and that helped alot!!!!!! I now drink 2-3 Premier Protein drinks a day they each have 30g of Protein in them, and my H2o. I eat the tuna packs with "lemon pepper" flavor and boy is it good! I also eat baby food, banana flavored. I add a little bit of greek plain yogurt to moisten it up the tuna alittle. I am so freaking happy with my decision. Everyone whose in the process or thinking about it Good Luck and I have no regrets. My surgeon is THE BEST.

and as for the phlegm i did have that, even at the hospital. What I had a problem with the first 3 days after discharge was nosebleed. Non-Stop i was getting scared for a moment. when I decided to go to the emergency room because I woke up to my pillow filled with blood stains It stopped, and I havent bled since then. But the phlegm does go away. Just keep coughing and using your sperometer however u spell it lol it helps.

Hey, I got sleeved a day before you! I didnt expierience any pain tho i did love the self medicaiting button. I didnt have morphine I had Dilaudid so I slept and slept and slept. Anyways lol, I didnt have any and when I say any Gas pains at all! I drink the premier Protein drinks. 30 grams of Protein in each bottle. I drink 2 or may 3 of those but I only do the chocolate flavor. I get sick with vanilla even before surgery. As for Water I drink it all day! Even after i finish my Protein Drink. Try it in the morning and u have all day to drink. You can do it!!

It will all get better hun, I promise. Just think of it as a blessing I know its hard to see it that way. I smoke electronics if my doctor found out he would kill me lol. But i dont smoke it on a daily basis. I'm not saying u should do that. I havent had my iced latte in weeks and im going crazy because I live for DD iced lattes but i know this recovery stage is necessary and when I get to my goal weight there is no one stopping me from shopping my life away lol.
