  7. I think everyone has given in to temptation and made a bad choice. The goal is to get back on track and move forward. You will do great in this journey I think simply because you realize how you did a bad thing, instead of trying to justify it like other's I've seen on here do. Forgive yourself but remember how sick you felt. That was enough to make me not want to try it again. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  8. I was getting 30-40 primary dr wanted it lower since I quit all my diabetic meds. 14 was too low. Hypoglycemic episode. Surgeons nurse said I need at least 30 spread out through the day. Apparently I was insulin resistant before surgery now body processes it. When you eat your body releases insulin to lower what you ate. If you ate no carbs sugar drops too low. At least from the point of a preop insulin resistant now not diabetic person. I had rny think it functions differently too Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  9. I found this very humorous. Personally being fat most of my life I've developed a thick skin. A newbie myself 10 weeks post and although very informed from surgeon and 6 weekly classes. I eat carbs. If it's on my list. Sugar drips when I don't eat enough carbs. I'm not clueless but total carbs, net carbs, good vs bad carbs, simple and complex do get a bit confusing. Glad to have info and support from others. Am I going to have pie or chocolate cake at a gathering no. Not 2 weeks out either. Even if I wanted crunchy I'd be scared it would cut my insides. I did eat the cheese and sauce off a piece of pizza. Sauce that's carbs right??? Oh confused on which kind again.... Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  10. I love this story and the old farm house charm. Mine is 1890s. Not nearly close to all the work that I'd love to do. I've been there almost 5 years. It will get done. In time Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  11. It has been 3 here but 2 since surgery. Isn't it amazing. We talk almost every day but I guess it adds up. She was more than happy to raid my closet. I pulled a couple shirts out I bought recently then said have at it. Anything that still fits won't in a few weeks anyways Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

  16. I forgot to mention to you that I also had an issue with severe fatigue for 3-4 months after surgery and I took my MFP food logs to my doctor and told him I could barely get through work and was tired all the time. He took one look and said I was eating too low carb. He told me to add fruit back into my diet (I was avoiding any and all sugar). So I started to eat a banana or apple every day and the issue completely resolved itself. Carbs are important! This was a separate issue from the passing/blacking out issue. I still deal with that occasionally but it is from lack of calories, not carbs. HW 290+/SW 261/GW 160/CW 159 My primary dr is the one who wanted me to lower the carb intake. I had been doing about 40-60. Since I'm off all my meds including diabetic ones she previously prescribed. Bypass nurse said since my body is readjusting to insulin and not being as resistant, I need some carbs. Obviously nurse was right the only other time this has happened since surgery was thanksgiving, but not near as low. We waited too long to eat and we also went on a walk. Definitely gotta keep it in check. Before a piece of fruit flavored candy is the only thing I found that would help. Not any more so I have to relearn my body. I missed 3rd shift last night and when I went by the office today was told I looked pale and sick. They have never said that before. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

  19. I love veggies still. Pasta bread and potatos I loved before I don't tolerate them now, rice I haven't tried except for a couple pieces stuck to a piece of chicken I picked out to try one day. I loved bread too. Now it all tastes like uncooked flour Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  20. Great thanks apparently I was only at 14 using someone else's entry on SparkPeople for my Protein shake we're actually on the carbs. Sigh definitely not fun. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  21. I had a headache when I got up around 6pm last night I work 1st and 3rd. Chills yet hot sweaty, shaky, words a little slurred. I was diabetic before surgery but never had drops that quick or so long to come up. Nurse said insulin processes sugar faster, plus the mal absorption process w rny so it takes longer to come up. Then goes a little high body releases insulin again then it drops again then balances out. Which is how my night went last night. Most of the time it happens if bypass patients consume too much simple sugar at once kinda like dumping, but not always and obviously wasn't my case. So now its at least 5 meal,Snacks every 3 hours total carbs about 30 to see if it helps. Sugar has ran 80-90 so far today I've had 28 carbs so far still have my dinner later Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App
  22. Does anyone count carbs and what is your limit. I'm trying to figure out a good balance and how low is too low. Yesterday I did not eat enough carbs through out the day (19) and had a hypoglycemic episode. My sugar was 40, then , 34, then registered low, before it stabilized. I'd really like to not have that happen again. Just curious if anyone else has gone through this. Waiting on a return call from my dr. Sent from my 5054N using the BariatricPal App

  25. Probably I'm 10 weeks out did everything I should. Dr wanted me to lower my carb intake just a bit. Yesterday I did. Had my light Protein shake for Breakfast 4:30am then snack at 10am. lunch was tuna around 12 and a p3 which is turkey, cheese and nuts at 3. Took a nap got up had salad w grilled chicken around 6. Headache most of the day. My bs was 40 then 34 then registered low. Finally got it back up. Needless to say I am sticking with the carbs I was on. It was working for me.
