  12. At Thanksgiving 1 week out 2 dinners. Looked at the way people were eating and I reminded myself...I once ate like that. The smell of the food made me nauseous. Self talk and remembering where you came from and the effort required will help you refuse cravings. I test myself everyday looking at foods once ate and how unhealthy they were. I am now 20lbs lighter and have no regrets. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App

  14. You don't need a snappy comeback, your weight loss is all you need. One thing you don't need is critical people who don't understand anything we have gone through. You don't need to impress anyone. It's not about them. This is all about you, your weight issues, your choice to improve. Just go and if anyone says any thing, tell them the truth. "I don't need all the fats and carbs...so enjoy." Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  15. What it's are nothing else but a pretext for failure. Don't set yourself up. Believe in what will be. I had all those emotions as well. I'm only three days out, but I know that I need to stick to the plan, follow the instructions, these things are tried and true. Believe in your self and continue to see "what will be." 16. Luck. It's more the skill of the surgeons and our obedience in after care. I wish you courage and tenacity for the walk you are about to take. You will do well Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  17. I did all that I was told. The liver is a very fragile organ and because they had to carefully separate the fat from the different organs i.e. spleen and pancreas to get to the stomach, they nicked the liver. I lost some blood but not enough for a transfusion Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  18. 3 days out. When I woke up and the Dr. told me that the surgery took 2 hrs longer because of adhesions and that my liver had been nicked,I was questioning why I did this. 3 days in ICU wasn't very pleasant. I am home now and I am much better. A rough start to be sure, but the future looks promising. (If only the gas would go away) Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  19. My surgery is tomorrow morning. After all the emotions ranging from fear to confidence and all points between, I am at the fail safe point. When I leave the house this morning I leave familiar foods and habits . When I return, " behold..all things are new." I will grieve the loss..for a time..but begin to Celebrate the gain for a lifetime. Pray for me. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  20. Starting pre-op diet on Monday. Surgery on the 15th. The closer I get the more I wonder if I can do it. I have been preparing for over a year. I'm thinking about the cost/benefit thing. I've been drinking coffee since I was 5. Will I miss it? Goes for other foods that will become taboo. I'm excited and have reservations at the same time. I'm 64 years old . You know that thing about "teaching an old new tricks. I want to and dont, want to at the same time. Anyone else ever feel like this? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
