Ok, so I am not alone in this. I am sooo hoping that this will pass! Just a few minutes ago I went and ate about 4 oz of strained tomato soup. I actually feel better..for now, satisfied. How are you feeling otherwise @@brather? I am doing good, except for thinking about food too much.

Hunger 4 days post op. Normal?
Hi everyone, I had my sleeve surgery 4 days ago, Oct. 3rd. The first 2-3 days I never felt hungry. Today I am hungry. I take antacids so I don't think its acid. I will drink a protien shake and feel satified for about an hour. Then hungry again. I am fearful that the "won't be hungry after surgery" thing isnt working for me? Was anyone else out there hungry at this point? No sure what to do. Why am I hungry? I have had about 600 calories today. Could it be head hunger? Will this go away when I get onto solids?

Full liquids
I had my sleeve surgery 4 days ago (oct 3). I'm not liking the full liquids stage much. I am eating protien shakes, no sugar added yogurt, and strained soups. It's getting old fast. The thing I don't like is that I never feel really satified and am craving the bad foods I used to eat before surgery. ( I realize this could be head hunger). I thought those cravings would have gone away. I am hopeful that once I start on mushed foods, I can start to feel satified.

Bariatric Fusion Meal Replacement Shakes - What flavor?
For my pre-op diet I had to choose between Vanilla and chocolate. I bought both and got kind of creative with them. With the chocolate I added a sprinkle of unsweetened bakers cocoa powder. It makes it less super sweet. For both vanilla and chocolate I occasionally added a drop or two of real orange extract. I was thinking mint extract might have been good also but I never got around to trying it. The one thing that really encouraged me to keep at it was that I lost over 10 lbs on the pre-op diet alone! Good luck!!

2 days post op- pain and spasms?
Hi there, I had my sleeve surgery two days ago. I feel my sleeve and surrounding areas spasm painfully for a few seconds at a time, (kind of like a contaction) randomly. It also happens right after swallowing. Is this gas? Or something else? has anyone else experienced this? Needing help so I can get some fluids in!

Any October 2016 Sleevers?
On the loser's bench now! Had my surgery on the 3rd. Surgery went fine, no complications. Now I'm just dealing with lots of gas pain, some fatigue and absolutely zero desire to consume anything. I'm scooching over to make room for everyone yet to follow! Best of luck to you all!

Thank you for this advice! I also enjoy tea, and many decaf teas are very soothing. So I may make the switch althogether.

What's the skinny on coffee?
- What's the skinny on coffee?
I am the same way, coffee first, biut for me its not so much the caffeine as the the ritual. I like just one cup, 10 oz, and I use almond/coconut creamer. Seem harmeless but I will consult with my team today. It would be nice to be able to hold onto one of my comfort rituals.- What's the skinny on coffee?
I can see the point about ulcers. When is see my NUT today I am going to ask about decaf. I wonder if trea is ok...just something warm in the mornings.- What's the skinny on coffee?
Were you instructed to stay off coffe pre-op as well? I've already given up everything else, so having to not have morning coffee is cruel, lol- What's the skinny on coffee?
Hi all, I am 5 days away from my VSG. I have a been battling headaches and can only take Tylenol now (Advil was my friend). I miss coffee not only for the caffeine but the ritual and soothing. Its my favorite morning thing. Question is, why is coffee a no-no? What about decaf? Is it the caffeine that is bad, or the acids in coffee? Is the coffee restriction just pre and post op, or life-long?- Before Your Surgery Suggestion!
Timely post! I am going for what is called the pre-op appontment today, which will entail seeing the RN, the nutritionist and that surgeon. It is 5 days before my surgery. I will ask for a book or some sort of diet guideline while I am there if it is not offered to me. It's a great center so I think they will have literature.- A Year Already....My Story (w/Pictures)
Congratulations!! You look amazing, and I can only image how great you feel too! What an inspiration!- What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
A couple of things were the straws that broke the back. My brother had a heart attack at age 45. He too, was very obese. My mom cried to me after saying how scared she was about me as well. My husband is an active person and I can't hike, run or enjoy life as he does, with him at this weight and shape. Last, I realized that I immediately delete any picures anyone takes of me, becasue I can't stand how I look. Mt surgery is Oct 3!- Being Sleeves October 3rd and I'm Starving
I' right there with you. I am also sleeved Oct 3. I constanty want something to eat! Protein shakes just are not enough. I am cranky and have a raging headache...can't take advil which is my 'go to'. Plus today I had a totally stressful day, like a 9/10 on the stress level. I was thinking about how I used to eat crap on days like this. I'm glad I'm not... but this sucks! The striggle is real! 5 and a half more days. Good luck to you!!- This fast sucks
That would be tough. I'm glad that my husband has been making dinner for the kids. They have been enjoying pizzas a lot lately, lol! I just can't stand the idea of cooking and not eating it. So my hats off to you! I love the coloring book idea.- This fast sucks
I know how you feel! I am on day 8. Around day 5 I started to get extremely irritated and short tempered. Today is better. I have been tryong to stay busy...that usually works, then when I get hungry I make a shake. Hang in there! We can do it. My surgery is Oct 3!- Pre-Op diet Day 3
Hang in there! I just finished my 7th day on the pre-op. The shakes do curb the appetite for me but just to a point. Man, do I want "real" food again! I agree with the others who have responded. Stay busy. I takes walks with my dog. Also I stay full with liquids and broth when I dont want a shake. I gotta be honest, I have snapped with my temper a few times over the past few days. I am not fun to be around lately! The good news it that is temporary, we will ge tthrough it. Also, I have lost 6 lbs already, just on this diet!- Pre-op diet cranky pants.
Update: Today I decided to stay as busy as possible. I walked the dog, twice.., long walks, he was happy! And ran tons of errands since I have the day off. This evening I watched a movie withthe family. Seems that as long as I stay really occupied, I'm pretty ok...as long as no one makes huge messes in the house, lol. Hope all you other pre-ops are surviving!- I got approved today!
Congratulations! it is a great feeling, isn't it?- Any October 2016 Sleevers?
October 3 here!- Pre-op diet cranky pants.
Thank you for this advice. I have two young teens in the house and they eat like crazy!! It's hard. I hope the anger subsides but if not I will seek counseling. My intuition is that I used to push down and ignore anger by eating. Can't do that anymore.- Time for a New Topic---
