Everything I've read says to date sleeve weight loss is below rny but it wouldn't have been around long enough for longitudinal studies. Band has up to 50% failure and revision rate at 10 years so that may be why it wasn't included with such a small band sample.

Sounds like Fluid retention to me. The faster you can get your fluids in and as close to 64 oz the better. I found warming my Water and shakes worked best in the early days. juice is generally high in sugar so if there are othe fluids you'll tolerate they would be better.

Travelher got a reaction from Jengo825 in Trying to decide if I should just remove my band, or convert
My only regret is not getting rid of my band sooner. Especially when I found out how common these issues are. I was angry with myself for keeping my head in the sand. Once I had done a little research I realized it had to go. It does not get better, only worse and it can irreparably damage your health. Get it out asap!
Like other ps have said rny is infinitely better. Back to normal...only without the health issues and an extra 100 lbs or so.

Dr Weiner has thousands. My doctor has thousands, most of us got fat on processed high fat/high sugar or simple carbs. None of us got fat on fruits and vegetables and legumes. Have never seen a regain post due to someone's blueberry addiction....never. Not one. It is usually processed crap.

what is interesting about my doctors long term stats are his nutritional deficiencies in his patients: for rny are 2%, sleeve are 1%. I wonder how that stacks up against the super restrictive diet docs?

Call me crazy, but I am I the only one that feels like my weight loss has aged me 10 years in the past few months?
It's like wrinkle city has suddenly appeared on my face, turkey neck, the whole thing. I'll take that over the fat, but I was not expecting this...at all

Whole grains like quinoa, amaranth, chia, flax, lentils, and millet are actually great for you too. Some have a good amount of Protein as well. Just an fyi....
I also have to add for anyone who says they crave more carbs after eating them...it must be the simple ones you're eating. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone eating lentil Soup or a good bowl of whole grains oatmeal and wanting more 30 mins later. I'm eating oatmeal that has a load of grains in it now, and definitely won't be hungry anytime soon! Complex carbs don't break down as fast in your system as simple ones do, this is why they're healthy for you. You can stay fuller longer due to the breakdown process, fibers, and Proteins in them.
Whether you want to eat them or not, that's your choice. I'm not trying to get anyone to move over to the "carb" side, if that's not what you want. I just want folks to be more educated about them. I don't want the complex carbs to be "BAD" to anyone who is ignorant of the facts.

Thank you! This is very helpful!

I think this is where I need to make the change. When my doctor gave me the 120g of carbs guideline it included "whole grain" crackers and bread, potatoes, oatmeal, etc. I will see if I can hit the carb goal using mostly veggies and legumes.
