So back I go
The hunger is probably acid. I was starving after my bypass, but once I went on the Prevacid..surprise...hunger gone. Sounds like yours is very severe.

Burping
Normal. I'm 10 weeks now and it is much better for me now. Only happens occasionally now.

What do you wish you'd known before lap band surgery?
Wish I had known pregnancy would cause complications with the band. Wish I had known they have a limited lifespan. But I had mine done in the early days...not much information around back then. Would say I wish I'd done rny from the start, but I don't think my bmi was low enough back then.

Laser treatment for hair loss
If the patches ar from weight loss they will fill in. Have you tried minoxidil? It worked for me after my band surgery.

Chest burning, vomiting foam
Call your doctor's office asap. I had that as well when I had my band In my case it was acid reflux. I wouldn't think that you should have those kinds of symptoms that soon with no fill...so please contact your doctor's office right away.

Stall?
I tend to get a stall every 3-4 weeks. What is weird form me is that right now I'm overdue for my stall and I'm questioning why it hasn't hit yet. Of course when it does I'll be frustrated like everyone else and be worried it won't end...just our brains messing with us.

post op q's!
- Women - losing hair?
You can. I did after my band surgery, so I'm expecting it now after my revision- If I'm struggling now, will I cope after?
Optifast is disgusting. I did not do it. I found another shake that was better and substituted that. The hardest part in the pre-op diet followed by the first 3 or so weeks after surgery...then it starts to get easier. You just need to hang in there.- And here it starts!
First off how are you defining a stall? I don't consider it a stall unless it has lasted a week or more. Normal weight loss looks like a set of stairs not a down slope. It has fits and starts. If you are following plan you don't have to do anything, it will come off. I hit a short stall (8 days) at 3 weeks, it just happens and you just need to ride it out. Read an interesting article that basically said fat cells don't like to shrink. They try to hold their volume, so they will absorb water to keep their volume before they finally break down and shrink. That is why you get the stall, followed by a drop.- Boobs! [emoji523]
Mine never shrink much at best I may drop a cup size (if I drop 100+ lbs). Heavy I border a dd/e...thin it is a d/dd. I had a reduction at 16..., so not afraid of doing a lift later if I have to.- Super Frustrated...
Dr weiner has a great video on this topic....https://youtu.be/3_aahPETzH0- Lap-band to Sleeve revision- 1surgery or 2
I had band to rny. Sleeve was the backup if the the rny wasn't possible. It was going to be 1 procedure either way for me.- Revision to Bypass, RNY from any Surgey coming up.... anyone else?
I throw up more days than I don't. However, my EGD was good. We aren't really sure why I have so much trouble. My band was great until I gotpregnant. I had hyperemesis and had to have a complete unfil. Since then, I've not been able to tolerate much fill at all and I throw up regularly. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App I developed my bad issues post pregnancy as well. Mine was in for 11 years. I did not have adhesions or scar tissue that prevented the bypass in the same procedure. My doc said he really wouldn't be able to tell until he was in there- Just annoyed..... stall edition
Have you tried more water? I started going to 80 oz every day. That broke my last stall.- Help! I ate real food!
Please, please don't do this again for your own safety...bread is a real no no. You are still healing and raw. I sincerely hope you will be fine, and if you are consider yourself lucky and don't test fate again. The first few weeks after surgery are not the time for people to be testing to see if it worked...if you get full etc. Your doctor's plan is for your safety!- Dumping
I dump with my protein shakes if I drink them too fast. It has happened twice...both times was speed of drinking...slowed down, haven't dumped since- Vitamin Patches
Just got my vitamin levels back from 7 weeks post op...everything is normal...thank you patchmd- First time skipping a period in my life!
I'm a week late myself...have never missed a period before (except when I was pregnant, of course)- What Is on Your Holiday Gift List?
I already got my big one...a treadmill. Fitbit is also on my list- What Is on Your Holiday Gift List?
I already got my big one...a treadmill. Fitbit is also on my list- Vitamin Patches
I use patchmd as well have never done anything else. My doc was fine with it. Put them on while I was still in the hospital- Weight gain in 2 days HOW?
Water retention. It is totally normal. Happens to everyone. Don't expect weight loss to be linear. It doesn't happen that way, except for maybe in the beginning for some lucky people. More like steps. Once you accept that and are a bit more realistic, you won't panic when this happens. I read an interesting article that hypothesizes that fat cells don't like to lose volume so they absorb water in a last ditch effort to keep their volume. That is what accounts for the gain or plateau before a drop.- Drunk feeling from eating sugar?
Hmm, no idea. Have not tried sugar or really any high carb food. I did have dumping from drinking a protein shake too fast and felt dizzy but not in a good way. Hot flashes sweaty and nauseaous and gross...never want to feel that again. So kind of like being drunk in a wanting to projectile vomit and curl up in the fetal position kind of way. - Women - losing hair?
