Weight loss after gastric sleeve
You are welcome. I worry about people setting themselves up for disappointment having unrealistic expectations. In this arena I set my expectations low..,then am thrilled when I beat them...that way I'm happy with the progress. Pictures are great. I lost 50lbs before I noticed in the mirror, but with pictures it was clearer earlier....where I was losing (eg I swear I lost the first 40 off my face)....then it started to come from other places...you are doing great!

I went rny too! I love it!

weight gain
Sounds like fluid retention to me. The faster you can get your fluids in and as close to 64 oz the better. I found warming my Water and shakes worked best in the early days. Juice is generally high in sugar so if there are othe fluids you'll tolerate they would be better.

Weight loss after gastric sleeve
Did I read this correctly that you've lost 35lbs in just over a month and you are worried you are not losing enough???!!! Please reset your expectations or you'll be disappointed a lot. You will stall, you will gain a few pounds along your weight loss journey. It is just how it works. Do all the right things and then don't worry about it. that is extraordinarily fast weight loss and not remotely achievable for most people. Give yourself a pat on the back and enjoy the journey.

Something I don't understand
The hormone ghrelin is mentioned above. It not only regulates hunger but they believe it also relates to your metabolism. So essentially you get a bit of a metabolic reset with surgery (if you have the bypass or sleeve). We need to eat healthy to keep it. Otherwise we damage it like we did the old one....

Pre op liquid diet
I started my vitamin patches during the pre-op and it made a huge difference. Also the first week is the worst, then you get used to it. I made soups with vegetables and bouillon since I was allowed both.

Slow weight loss?
Good goal. I can't help but respond. It does blow my mind though. I understand the "here is what I'm losing, is it typical?" question. But the "I'm so upset that I'm only losing 22lbs a month what should I be doing?" or "do I need a pouch reset 2 months post op because I've only lost 36lbs? Makes me shake my head in wonder. There are clearly doctors out there doing no education...like none.

Slow weight loss?
If I see another post in a group where someone is lamenting their 10-25lb am month weightloss as "disappointing" or "slow" I am going to lose my mind! Seriously, saw a post on another site where someone has lost more than 20lbs a month and feels like it should be more. Why? Where do people get this information? I truly do not understand.

How long to feel pains near incisions? (I am 3 wks post op gastric bypass)
I'm 3 months out and I still get irritation of my scar above my belly button. It was the last to heal and tends to be the one that clothe rub against or I lean on or something.

My immediate post-op experience
Wow, Sorry you went through this. I just shows that everyone's experience is different. Some people will have a lot of pain, others not. I was lucky. I've had 5 surgeries (knee acl reconstruction, lap band, c section, breast reduction, rny) -and have to say my rny was the best recovery. Didn't need meds after day 1. But pain was terrible right out of surgery until I got the meds. I glad you are starting to feel better!

Anyone In Their 40's Get Rid Of Saggy Skin/cellulite With Exercise?
I wouldn't worry about scars in the long term. My lap band was 2005. I needed to hunt to find those scars. Yet my rny scars looks so obvious and angry. I know they will fade in time

My taste buds have changed
For the first time ever I have found that. At 3 months out I'm loving blueberries, I've never liked blueberries. Now I could eat them all day long.

How many calories should we be eating?
Sounds good to me. I'm 3 months and get 700-900/day. If you reduce you could put yourself in starvation mode. So I would keep what you're doing your weight loss is amazing. I'm down 55. Trying to to keep my calories over 850. As much as I can

Ricotta bake okay during pureed stage?
Depends. My nut had us doing purée/soft food. So in mine, yes it was fine

Weight Gain
I weigh once a day in he morning when I get up...naked. It is the best and most consistent time to weigh yourself. You will gain food and Water weight throughout the day. So it is pointless to weigh yourself at different times throughout the day. Also please don't set yourself up to expect a 1-2lb drop per day. That will stop and you'll go into a set of stairs style weight loss mode. I had a 1'week stall (I don't consider a plateau less than 7 days a stall) at 3 weeks and another two week one at 9 weeks.

No problems eating... is that ok?
My instruction at that phase was 1/2 cup portions. I measure everything still. Others may have been given instructions on smaller portions (1/4 cup). I still measure and weigh everything now. I suggest getting a good little food scale, it helps with tracking everything. I weigh and measure my food and use small tupperware to portion it out.

Not losing
It definitely gets better when you can eat real regular food. I made a lot of soups in the purée stage. Good luck!

No problems eating... is that ok?
Nope that is normal. You won't feel real restriction until solids. Believe me. I had a hard boiled egg early in my solids phase and omg didnt do that again for a while!

Losing Fast Enough? & Other Questions
I suggest you check out dr. Matthew Weiners videos on YouTube. He has a lot of information on a variety of topics including rates of weight loss. I lost about 16lbs month one, 14 month 2 so you are losing quickly. Why do you think you should be dumping? Are you eating foods off plan? I still have not tried high sugar/ carb foods so don't know if they would make me dump. But drinking my shake too quickly has.
