  1. Welcome to the club!!! I love my rny too. One thing to watch out for is acid. I had hunger pains for the first 2 weeks (also had reflux so I went on Prevacid). Sure enough the hunger pangs were gone...it was the stomach acid making me hungry.
  2. Did you take pictures? I do pictures once a month. I didn't notice until I put my before picture next to my more recent ones. Also take your measurements. I do arm, chest, waist hips, thigh.
  3. You need to chill and wait it out.
  4. Definitely aged me too, but I'm nearly 50...I lost a bunch of weight after lapband surgery in my late 30s and it didn't age me. Now that I've had bypass at 49, the fat hid all the wrinkles...and boom here they are. But I'm still told I look young for my age so, I'll deal.
  5. You can add me. I'm travelher on Fitbit too
  6. 9 lbs a month is good. 1lb in two weeks is nothing to panic about if you eventually get a drop. I revised to rny and I was told it would be slower that newly wls folks. I'm losing faster than expected and they were shocked. My current rate is about 9lbs a month and I expect that to really slow very soon. I think your dr may need to come on here and read the thousands of posts about the week 3 stall. That he told you to start jogging is absurd. Please check out dr. Matthew weiner on YouTube if you are looking for reasonable post op diet and exercise recommendations. He also talks about why people lose at different rates etc.
  7. For starters 70lbs in 4 months is awesome. Especially if you have not been following your plan. I'm on track to be close to 70 lbs down at 4 months and have been religiously following my plan. Having said that if you want to continue to lose and more importantly keep it off you are right, you need to make changes and it isn't too late. You can do this! We are here for you.
  8. Everyone is doing fine. It really doesn't matter how fast you lose as long as you are losing. Your rate of weight loss has absolutely nothing to do with whether you will hit goal or not and you seem to be in the normal range. It really annoys me that doctors sell the best case scenario to folks and set them up for disappointment. Here is an example of a longer term sleevers weight loss that was posted before I hope this put things into perspective. Please readjust expectations and focus on what you are accomplishing and not what you haven't. The fast losers are a small percentage as are the ones who exceed goal. It is far from the norm.
  9. Wouldn't worry about crunches n sit-ups etc they do absolutely nothing for the fat on ya guts. Diet is the only thing that can get rid of that. Takes tie for the guts fat to go... so bloody frustrating hey lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Agree. Drives me nuts to see ads saying get rid of fat in place x by doing this exercise...core strengthening is still a great thing to do for other reasons though.
  10. Also bypass for all of the reasons above. Mine was a revision from a lap band.
  11. I thought I was hungry too. Nope it was acid. When I started my ppi the hunger dissapeared. It was acid I needed to be on prevacid
  12. . I'm in toronto, but travelled to Montreal to dr Christou because mine was a revision (more complex) from a band. And dr Christou is very experienced with revisions
  13. I track inches on my fitnesspal. I just had to customize the menu. I set it up to track waist, chest, hip and thigh measurements.
  14. Toronto here, had my surgery in Montreal.
  15. yep. I love steak. has to be cooked rare or medium-rare.
  16. I'm in Ontario too. My advice is keep pureeing everything. You have a scarred baby stomach...variety is good though keep experiencing with recipes etc, it keeps things interesting and will help keep you satisfied and on track. I disagree with others on the blueberries though...make sure you puree them very well. At 3 months post op, I started having difficulty eating in the afternoon. Was burping a lot and felt uncomfortably full. This lasted till dinner, when I tried eating I threw up. A single blueberry from 2pm had lodged in my stomach and was blocking the way, it's that blueberry skin (little bugger) At 3 months post op, I was fine...at your stage....waaay too risky.
  17. You've done great! I was only 3 months out in mine...still great to see the progress.
  18. I do weigh and measure everything, then I portion it into servings. Myfitnesspal does the calculating for me
  19. Are you on a ppi? I thought I had hunger pangs too. Turns out it was stomach acid. I went on Prevacid and within a day they were gone.
  20. My leg are and always will be tree trunks...boobs will always be gigantic too. Would love to lose some off my boobs.
  21. me pre-op and 3 months postop. About 60lbs down in this picture.
  22. No the doctors usually use a formula. I've heard it is 100lbs for a woman at 5' tall, then you add 5lbs for every inch. So at 5'6 they would use 130lbs. Take your current weight, subtract 130 and the calculate 60%of that to be your weight loss estimate
