Welcome to the club!!! I love my rny too. One thing to watch out for is acid. I had hunger pains for the first 2 weeks (also had reflux so I went on Prevacid). Sure enough the hunger pangs were gone

I had my band removed in 2015 and am on the path for RNY now. I'm happy to have found this post! Thank you for posting this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

hi all! I am now a gastric bypass recipient. So far the difference between the band and the bypass is night and day. No "stuck" feeling, no nausea. It's so different, and in the best way. I am only 1.5 weeks out, but even in this small amount of time, the bypass far exceeds my hopes already.
the band sucked, was unhealthy and really not manageable for me. I thought about the revision surgery for 2 years after I got my band removed and gained any weight lost back.
Finally went for it ,and I am glad so far. the only fly in the ointment is head hunger. I just keep telling myself that the feeling of wanting something will pass, and its just a feeling, not a biological need.
if a scaredy-cat like me can do it, probably anyone can do it!
ask me anything, or PM me, I am happy to share my experiences so far.
and thanks for being so positive and supportive during my journey, from 2009 to today.
Cheers!
