  1. Hi all. Oct. 5th is going to be my 6 months post op. Right now I'm down 86lbs 270->184. Still having trouble with water and vitamins but I'm very happy with my progress. This is with no gym. Now that I'm closer to my goal weight I'm going to start working out. Any other 6 monthers? Sorry for the underwear pics. The ones on the left I took the morning if surgery, on the right was this am. 2. I find that opinions like that are baseless yet popular..ignorant I guess you would say. I think a person only suffers from constant purging, and not being able to eat normally if you don't follow the specific set of directions you are given for the rest of your life. Im just about 6 months post op and I drink alcohol (wine), eat steak, treat myself to some dark chocolate or halotop, and sometimes eat taco bell in a pinch and I'm down 86lbs and still going. It is all about getting out of your own way to listen to your body. If you are full after 4 bites then stop eating and save the rest for later because there will be a later. The biggest thing I had to get used to was fixing my portions. Even sometimes now when I am at a restaurant or eating at a party I immediately fix a plate the way I would a year ago and have to take a second to realise well this is just too much and then i make it right. I won't lie, I had my band converted to bypass because my band and i were complete failures so I KNOW what its like to fail with wls and now I know what its like to succeed.

weed smoker about to get bypass

Hi OP, I had surgery 4/5/17 and Ive been smoking weed since probably 2-3 weeks post op. I DID quit smoking cigarettes 2 months prior to surgery and didn't smoke weed very much as well but I do smoke about once a day usually right before bed. Munchies are still very real and I've had my over eating experience sober and not sober and you really need to train yourself to keep your pouch in mind (I usually have a small amount of halo top or a granola bar if i get the munchies). Either way I don't feel that my pouch has been bothered by weed. Hope that helps!
  4. I am very excited to report that I have reached one of many goals, to lose 40 lbs by 2 months post op. I struggled hard with the 3rd week stall because it last 2 weeks and I've just started to work out and I feel amazing. I am so happy. From my highest weight of 270, then 255 on surgery day and down to 215 today. I hope that this month I can lose 10lbs and then by my birthday (7/24) I can reach *onederland* Thanks for listening [emoji173] First pic is 8/11/15 270lbs Second is surgery day-255 Third is today 215 Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

  6. Hi there...a week shy of 5 months post op RNY....down almost 80lbs. I will admit I am not taking my vitamins, water or protein like I should. I know...what a dumb f**k I am. I know. But I have started to take my liquid vitamins and my protein but did bad with water this week leading me to be SO constipated from Monday to today. All in all everything cleared out and I thought I was okay but the last couple of days I've been feeli my a sort of nauseas feeling and almost like indigestion but not fully since RNY...almost like a thick grease feeling in my throat. This is after I made and had about 3 oz of home made pulled pork. Since I am losing regularly I've been eating a keto inspired diet (including steak and bacon) am I wrong for this? I am going to make an appointment with my doctor but I'm leaving for Disney in 1 week...shoukd I just take the rest of the proposed prescription? Is it all lack of water? Please help, I'm nervous and d ont really want to see my doctor and have him tell me I'm failing Thank you Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. Hi there! I need advise on what to tell my doctor, if I need to call him. So I'm 70lbs down, 55 from surgery which was April 5th 2017...3.5 months ago. Everything has been great, I can eat meat and veggies and usually have no problem unless I eat too fast or drink water too soon which has only been a couple of times. I've inky been bad with my vitamins and water which I know is major, but I am trying very hard to get my **** together when it comes to that. I haven't been to a check up with my surgeon since May. Problem: I had my period this week and with that I get bloat, cramps, gas and constipation- it's real fun! Not lol. On Friday or Saturday I noticed my tummy kinda hurt or felt full really fast so I took it easy. I did have a medium glass of champagne because after 3 months you can have carbonated beverages but I don't do it on the regular. Then on Sunday I noticed that feel was lingering and now Monday and it's still lingering although I haven't eaten yet. Is it possible that maybe I am partially backed up (BM seems reg)? It's almost like on the other end it feels like I am backed up and my stomach is kind of full although like I said I haven't eaten. I am very nervous to tell my Dr. And have to do more tests or x rays and I'm even more scared that I've hurt my ouch jn some way because I do my best to respect It! I don't think I am allowed to take real laxatives anymore but colace seems to do nothing, any suggestions please? Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

  10. Okay, do you have time to elaborate? I've seen that many people go keto here post op and my surgeon never spoke against it. Not questioning you but if you have some feed back i want it. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Thank you both for responding with great points!@sleevedreamer, yesterday I came upon the concept of too much fat and I believe this has a lot to do with it (bacon, pulled pork etc) has this happened to you personally? I will heed both of these advices and plan on making a Dr. Appt after I get back from Disney Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Hi there! About 4 months out and I am slacking hardcore on my vitamins. Has anyone had experience with liquid vitamins? Brand? Advise? Thanks! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. 52lbs down from surgery day 255-203 and 63 lbs down from my highest 270-203! 4lbs until wonderland. My 25th birthday is in 19days....hope I can give myself a great gift [emoji176] Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Before wls I used to train with a trainer who was all about super sets, hiit, tabata etc, but super sets are kind of hard in the gym because I doknt want to be obnoxious and I started last week with lots of cardio which was great but if like to start with some weights to try and tone so what are your favorite things? Weights at the gym is pretty self explanatory, but wls patients tend to drupe and that's what is like to avoid.
  15. Came across a picture of me at my biggest 270 in 2015, and compared it to a picture if me last weekend at 208 :0 By the way my wls instagram is rny_in_ny if anyone would like to follow another Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Thank you all so much for your wonderful input! Definitely some great advise. love this thread! hope it keeps going.
  17. Ok, thank you all for your awesome feed back! My other question that I can't seem to figure out is... if you are still in the losing phase, should you stick to cardio and things like low weight/high rep to tone? My delima really is that i am not done losing..although I am down 62lbs I still have atlas 40lbs to go and I fear that if i start back up with the weights, my losing will stop- essentially I feel like I am not at a point that I want to start adding muscle. Whereas at the same time I would like to try and tone so that I don't have to suffer SO much with excess skin, even though I am not even at the point where excess skin is a worry yet because i still have so much to lose. Forgive me if this sounds like I am rambling in circles but I have been in a stall for 2 weeks, and I am staring to become frustrated and i fear that I am going to f**k up and do everything wrong

    Post your progress pics!

Hi there! I am 2.5 months out from band to bypass and I am 62lbs down total! 270-208lbs right now. Still have long ways to go! the revision was the best decision of my life!
  19. Sure thing. Female, 24, 4'11, sw:270 cw:208. Surgery was 4-5-17. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. Hi! Can anyone who has had band to bypass give an insight into how your weight loss is going? I know it's gonna be a little slower but I never really lost weight with the band (long story), so I don't know what the expectations are. Thank you!
  21. Just a word of advise, I had the Lapband because it was "reversable"...what I didn't take into consideration was that id still have to go under the knife to have it removed. Much happier now that it's removed and I have the rny. I am down 50lbs in 3 months Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. First of all, congrats on losing 65lbs, that is not easy to lose. Second, how does your protien/water intake look? What kind of workouts are you doing- maybe switching it up to shock the system may help jump start some losing again. Don't be so hard on yourself, even if you have gotten off track...everyone does no matter what they say. We had this surgery for a reason-if weight loss was so effortless like some people insinuate, then why get wls to begin with? 🙄. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. Has anyone has impacted stool? Yesterday morning I noticed that I was having trouble and that I hadn't really experienced anythikng like it before. I am 2 no the post op RNY and have suffered some constipation but for the most part have had regular am BM. I've had to to some unorthodox things to help with this situation and last night I drank some milk of magnesia to maybe help soften what was left. Well this morning I found myself batrlijng the softr stool that was stuck behind the hard stool. I'm scared, I don't want to injure myself but now whatever is left is causing some annoying discomfort. Help a girl out...the last thing I want is a rubber glove and a doctor [emoji24] Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
