  1. I just had my band removed and revision to bypass on 2/13/17. I've been doing really good. I've lost just over 40 lbs, including my 2 week pre-op. I had so many issues with my band the last several years so it's been great to be able to eat and drink. I know everyone's experience can be different but I'm glad I did it!
  2. Going good. I have my post-op appt later today!
  3. I also had band issues. I was banded in 2007 and had it removed last week and now have RNY. My band worked good for 3.5 years then I began having major issues with reflux and slowly had to remove all my restriction and gained back about 75 pounds. Happy I was able to get it out!
  4. Maybe try a soup that's a little thicker. Such as potato soup without chunks. That's what I did after my band to get me through.
  5. It did! They are keeping me one more night but my pain is down alot. Yay!
  6. Surgery Monday! Sent from my SM-T580 using the BariatricPal App
  7. I am having my band out on Monday and revision to bypass at the same time. It sounds like I had similar issues. My surgeon will do bypass at the same time but said he would not do sleeve at the same time. He recommended bypass for me due to having a band and due to history of reflux.
  8. CocoNina...I'm the 13th too! Try some creative protein shakes.
  9. Hey! I didn't realize how many people had band problems either. It's been nice to read what others have experienced. I can't help much with what to expect since I'm in my pre-op for revision starting today. My surgery is on 2/13. But I'll keep ya posted!
  10. Starting pre-op tomorrow...won't be long!
  11. I think it's normal to be nervous. But I think I'm more excited than nervous! Won't be long!
  12. My surgeon said that it's best to have RNY following the band. I know I see lots of both on here but I'm going with RNY. I start my 2 week pre-op diet tomorrow! I'm very excited! I'm excited for you too!
  13. That's so great to hear! Thank you!
  14. That's awesome! I'm scheduled for 2/13.
  15. I'm 2/13! I'm excited too! I'll be getting my band out and having RNY. The next 2 weeks can't go fast enough!
  16. Scheduled for RNY 2/13/17! Yay!
  17. That's great! I'm excited too!

  19. Thank yall for the encouragement! It sounds like we all had similar issues with the band! I'm so excited about the revision! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
  20. Hello, I just finished my 6 months of medically supervised weight loss (hoop to jump through for insurance). I was banded in December 2007 and lost 100 lbs. My band was great at first but I began having problems with my band after about 3.5 years. I had horrible reflux and slowly ended up with almost all my Fluid removed and gaining back all but 25 lbs. I am very excited about having my band removed. My surgeon has recommended the bypass and says it's the safer option after having a band. I am OK with that and after reading more! It does seem like the better option for be due to the reflux issues as well. Now I'm just waiting on insurance approval. I'm very excited and hope to have surgery in the next 6 weeks. YAY! Anyone else out there on a similar timeline? Sent from my SM-T580 using the BariatricPal App
