  1. I hope its not anything like "dieters tea". I had a very tramatic experience with that tea. Lol HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  2. My great aunt is a diabetic nurse. She had gastric bypass 30 years ago. She ended up with every known side effect and major issues that included having medically procribed liquid diet fed directly into her stomach thru a port in her side.... but she still recommends the surgery. She lost almost all of ber excess weight and kept more than 60% of the weight off over these 3 decades and aknowledges that she is a "one off" and most people dont have the same issues. 3. Has anybody tried adding Fiber to their food/shakes? I am 5 weeks post op, approved for all foods, but dont really have room for high fiber foods after getting the Protein in. I would prefer a premptive approach rather than a reactive one as I am worried about treatments "kicking in" during inopertune times like meetings, driving etc. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) 4. I havent tried cucumbers but I made spring rolls with cabbage, carrots, spinach and bean sprouts. I also made a warm brussel sprout and apple slaw. I didnt have any trouble with any of it. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  5. My doctor said that I could go back whenever I felt I could. I was sleeved on weds and went back to work the following monday. I worked 4 hours a day for mon, tues, weds and 6 hours a day thur, fri. I was back to full time the following monday. I could have worked full time by the weds (1 week) but I had the sick time and was being lazy. I am the accounts payable department at a solar company. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) 6. I aint gonna lie. The preop liquid diet sucked. I cheated a couple of times with Protein. The post op one is easier since you dont have the hunger. BUT... its only a month of your life (typically) so you can make it thru... HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  7. My doctor actually said 6 weeks HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  8. Me too. 36lbs to go. Hopefully before the new year. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  9. I was doing that about 6 days out. Three dogs, including an Akita mix and a GSD, means vacuumung/sweeping every other day. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  10. One of my favorite meals is something we jokingly refer to as "bad jew food". Its lox and bagels (a Kosher deli food) with bacon (def not kosher) and avocado. Some family members add sliced onion and tomato. I really wanted to participate in this family meal and found a way to do so. Lenders mini bagels. 1 bagel has only 65 cals and 13 carbs. This one has 0.5 oz cream cheese, 0.5 oz bacon and 0.5oz lox and totally filled me up and satisfied my craving. One mini instead of two full sized bagels, which is what I would normally have eaten. 11. It was a "Mothers recipe" butter paneer spice pack that I crockpotted 4 chicken thighs. It was a bit too spicy for me so i added 1 cup of fairlife milk and cooked it down a bit as it was thin. At the end added 7 oz of paneer. This made at least 28 oz. I had 4oz for dinner. Usually I would have had rice, naan and 3 or 4 times as much meat. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  12. Ok, I know its not lunchtime for everyone but how about we show off our tiny food creativity? I bet you guys have/ eat stuff that others wouldnt think of. Here's mine. 2oz - "Butter" chicken with paneer 2 oz - grapes HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  13. My fav weekend breakfast is "cheese eggs" made with 1 part fairlife milk, 4 parts liquid eggs and 1 laughing cow wedge. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  14. I made cottage cheese "fluff" and added two scoops of GENEPRO. I divided it into 7 - 5oz cups at 122cals 14g carbs and 23 grams Protein. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  15. My husband eats it with hit sauce. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  16. My ortho telling me that I would have to have my knees replaced before I turned 50 if I didnt do something. Tendonitis in both elbows that wouldnt heal because I was having to push myself up everytime. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  17. I understand the feelings, but he sees you everyday. He may not know the exact number but i am sure he can ballpark it in his head.... and he loves you anyway. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  18. I know! I am an inch taller than him and have always used that as a reason why I way more, but now I am 50lbs less. Woot! HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  19. Im only 5 weeks post op and married for one year (thou we have lived together for 7). I dont think that WLS will change us too much. We are both doing the surgery and we both have been big since we met, though this is the biggest. There may be some male attention jealously as I have been told I am pretty (while fat) and that "when your skinny you will have cheekbones for days". Ask me again in a year though. This is me (with full makeup) at 375. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  20. I dont understand why you wouldn't tell your husband your weight. He's the person you chose to spend your life with. This seems like a very silly secret in the grand scheme of things. I tell my husband every time I hit a mini goal, or when I finally get to and lose 1.5lbs. He's not as appreciative of the latter, but still celebrates with me. I think you're missing out on a chance to embrace the process, his love for you and his admiration at your accomplishments. Maybe its different for us because we are both big and met thru a weight loss program. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  21. Uncooked egg whites?!?! HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  22. My go to Protein shake is 10z fairlife milk (half reg/half chocolate), 1 scoop GENEPRO, and 1 scoop PB2. You can swap the pb2 for instant decaf for a mocha feel. I like thinks cold, so i just picked up a personal blender to make "frapachinos" at work. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16
  23. Actually its 25% of excess weight and I lost it today! 50lbs in 47 days! HW 385 SW 359 CW 338 Sleeved 10/5/16
  24. Lost 50lbs in 47 days (counting preop diet) HW 385 SW 359 CW 338 Sleeved 10/5/16
  25. That comes across pretty harsh. My friends would never question my choices, but a well meaning coworker, or the spouse of my husband's boss, might get a little noisy. I am only looking for and offering up ideas for people who want to be part of a festive occastion without alcohol. Maybe they dont want questions or maybe they just want some ideas for beverages other than water or tea. Sometimes its easier to carry the proverbial solo cup. HW 385 SW 359 CW 338 Sleeved 10/5/16
