I guess what I'm trying to understand is why there's so much anger and vitriol instead of compassion and more understanding. None of us get to a place where we need surgery because we've made good choices or had 100% transparency or honesty with ourselves or with others. Sometimes there are issues that run a lot deeper with some folks than others. You just never know a person's background or story.
I also know from my own past (I'm almost nine years out) and many of my friends in the WLS community we all had experiences where when we first had surgery and were doing remarkably well, we felt invincible and full of conviction and top of the world with our choices and actions. It's easy to get to a place of high-ground when you feel that way, which is why I think it's important to remember that it doesn't always stay that way. There are always going to be times when you question others actions, and that's normal and fine. But remember, there are probably others doing the same to you. Extend the same kindness you'd want for yourself.

Being judgemental with each other NEVER helps. Support is not judgemental. Support is support. You're there through the good times and the bad listening, lending an ear, giving the best advice you can through a supportive and encouraging lens that won't further damage someone(s) already struggling.

I had GS surgery on 9/13 and I've rebounded so much better than I ever thought. No real pain to speak of, or any complications. Between the two weeks before and the last five days I'm sick to death of these Protein shakes and this liquid phase. I've enjoyed some SF Jello and pudding here and there and some Tomato Soup and broth but I am so ready for some other food!!!!!!! I can't take it anymore lol!!!!

It really varies a lot from program to program. When I was on full liquids (the first four weeks after surgery) I was definitely ordered to count calories and get no more than 650 per day. When I moved on to purees, it was 800 calories per day.
For most people liquids aren't going to make you feel full, so that isn't a good measure for when to stop. In fact, it really isn't ever a good measure. IMO you should make it your plan *for the rest of your life* to eat until you feel satisfied, not full.
Satisfied = not really hungry anymore
Full = physically stuffed to capacity
But on liquids, and especially with your nerves all traumatized from surgery, looking for any sort of physical sensation from your stomach is probably not going to be helpful. Focus on getting all the liquid and Protein that you need. Get in touch with your surgeon's office to see if you are supposed to be counting calories or carbs. Good luck!

I also had my surgery on the 12th. My surgeon has me on low to no calories for 4 weeks post op. liquids only and not even required to drink Protein shakes. I can have a couple ounces of Protein if I want, but he's more concerned with hydration.
