    Loosing super slow

I can definitely sympathize with you and know your frustration. I am also a slow loser and I do not have PCOS. I am almost 8 weeks post op sleeve surgery and have only lost 17 lbs. some days it's 16. I don't really know why it's so slow but I continue to do as everyone on this site recommends, and that is to stay on track with my Water and Protein. My limitation at this time is that I cannot exercise. I have a partially torn Achilles' tendon that requires surgery, which I can't have until January. So I am sure that lack of exercise contributes to the slow weight loss. In any case I will continue doing what I can and I offer you encouragement also. I know it is discouraging at times. I am optimistic that we will get there as long as we stay the course. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stalled in first month

We are very similar I our situations. I am 6 weeks out and also lost 5 lbs prior to surgery. Then 8lbs over next 2 weeks. Then for 3 weeks no loss at all. Then 2 lbs at week 5. Start weight was 238. Now 223. It is coming off slowly. I also have had no trouble with food or liquids. I always get between 80-100 grams of Protein daily and sometimes more. I try to get at least 60 or more ounces of Water daily. My calorie intake at this point fluctuates between 800-1100 calories per day. I usually start my day with a Protein Drink and mostly just eat 3 meals per day. I am not much of a snacker. It is definitely hard at times to stop eating when I should, but I try to anyway because I have eaten more than I should a couple of times and it is uncomfortable. I also wish the weight would come off a little faster but I am a former lap bander and I hear that for some reason we tend to lose at a slower rate. I am grateful every time I see the scale show a loss. I agree with everyone else, stay on track with your plan and you will see progress. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I have also had a super easy time. I also thought something surely must be wrong because it was too easy. I had no trouble from day 1 post op getting in my liquids and Protein drinks. I recovered so quickly and tolerating liquids so well that after 1 week of liquids, my Dr okayed it for me to advance to purée, then after doing so well on that was on soft foods at week 3. I am now 4 1/2 weeks post op, saw my NUT today and was approved to try different things 1 at a time to make sure I tolerate. So far there has been nothing that I haven't been able to tolerate. I can eat 1/2-1 cup of food depending on what type food it is. I make sure I get between 70-100 grams protein daily, low carbs and at least 60oz or more of fluids daily. I am down 15 lbs from surgery date. The weight is coming off slow but it's coming off. I won't stress about it. So glad to hear that others out there had same thoughts as me, that it has been too easy, something must be wrong. I am very thankful to have been blessed with no complications. help! new sleeve question

I am also one of the lucky ones. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and have had no problems with any liquids. I was drinking my Water and broths and Protein drinks next day after surgery. Didn't have to drink slowly. I also thought maybe the Dr had not done the surgery. I am now on soft foods and still no problems. I am having no trouble getting my protein. I still drink 1 or 2 Protein Drinks per day depending on what I eat that day. I don't really get hungry, but I eat 3 meals per day and don't snack in between because I'm not really hungry. I can only hope that I continue on with such good results. I hope that your journey continues on successfully and easily. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have so little problems. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Weight loss stalls

I am glad I read this post. My surgery was 9/16 and I lost 5 lbs prior to surgery and 7 lbs the week after then nothing for next 5 days. I haven't weighed the last 3 days because I was getting to fixated on the scale not moving. I am also getting my Protein in plus extra. Drinking plenty of Water. So I am hoping to see a change soon. Glad to know I'm not alone in this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Chugging water

I am 9 days post op and have no problems with any fluids. I can also drink Water fast and in large amounts. broth, tea, Protein drinks, they all go down easily. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I am 4 days post op sleeve and also have psoriatic arthritis. I am looking for fellow sleevers that also have this or RA or similar history. I am wondering about meds we take for the pain. Until 7 days before my surgery, I took Mobic and sulfasalizine daily. I am getting conflicting info on whether it is ok to take after being sleeved. Some say yes it's fine, others say not safe. I am wondering what others in my situation are doing. I appreciate any feedback. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

4 days post op and feel great.

I am also a former lap bander. It was removed in 2014 due to slippage. In the 2 yrs I have gained back the 60 lbs I had lost. I am so ready to get that back off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

4 days post op and feel great.

Thanks so much for the feedback. It just seems weird feeling so normal so soon. I do have the head hunger but no true stomach hunger. I am on a full liquid diet for 1 week and then move to purée. How fast were you able to advance your diet and how did you tolerate it? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I am 4 days post op being sleeved and I feel great! I have some incisional pain discomfort but not too bad. I have not had any nausea, vomiting or reflux. I have had no problem tolerating my fluids, even my Protein drinks. I feel like I could eat regular food, although I won't because I know my stomach is healing. I almost feel like I didn't even have the surgery except I don't get hungry, which is great. I am down 10 lbs from my pre op stage till now. I see so many posts with people with issues post op. Is it normal to feel this good so soon? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Kjcor. That's great you are on puréed food that soon. I totally feel like I could eat purée now at 3 days out. I know all surgeons have different plans, and I would love to hear more about your surgeons reasoning about starting purée sooner than usually allowed. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Hello. I am new to this site. I was sleeved on Friday the 16th. I have so far had great recovery. No nausea, no gas pain. I stayed overnight in the hospital because that's what my Dr requires, but other than abdominal pain at the incision sites, I feel great. I have not had any problems tolerating my liquids. I am already drinking my Protein shakes with no problem. I almost feel like I could eat food but of course would not do that. It's great so far not being hungry. I only had to do the liquid diet for one week prior to surgery and was down 8 lbs on surgery date. I also am a former lap bander that had to be removed due to slippage. I was banded in 2010 and it was removed 2014. I lost 60 lbs with band and gained it all back in the 2 yrs it has been removed. I hope and pray I have good results with the sleeve.
