  1. Will be 8 weeks on Monday and I'm still nauseous daily. Usually after eating or drinking! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. I was cleared too- im around 36 days- my problem is food is just not speaking to me- but I keep trying. Doctor said it's sense of smell but that it will gradually get better each day. He told me an average of 4-6 months and I'll get most of it back- hope so:-) good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I feel/felt the exact same way. I am 5 weeks now, and I feel just slightly better. If I eat I feel REALLY sick to my stomach. If I don't eat I get heart burn-horrifically- and feel really sick to my stomach. If I eat or drink I get heart burn. Nothing tastes even remotely like it used too, and I can't find anything at all yummy that can be my "go to" food. I am hoping that I just have not healed enough in 5 weeks. I feel nauseous all day-everyday too, so trying to eat and (especially drink) is a HUGE challenge. Did I mention I sit in my professional office belching deeply through out the afternoon-yea, real nice! I am sure people are chatting about it among themselves. I thought I had done my research on this surgery and everything I would be going through, but seems I missed a lot. I just PRAY-seriously sit down and I PRAY-that I heal quickly! My goal currently now-to be able to drink water normally like I used to. The food I don't care so much about. I have a complete aversion to food-but boy am I thirsty!!! (BTW I am 42 pounds down in 5 weeks)
  4. I'm seeing a GI specialist... think it's time for a top GI doctor Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I take omeprazole and a pepsid daily- I'm only 5 weeks. I'm told to give it time. I had no delay in the heartburn it started as soon as I woke from surgery! I'm also told I'm still healing and I may still be highly sensitive. Pre surgery omeprazole completely relieved all my symptoms so I'm hoping. This experience has been terrible and another surgery is not an option- at least as I feel now:-( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I just wish I would have heard this before. I asked him and he told me that either surgery aggravates the GURD.... but this is way more then aggravation:-( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. What I don't understand is WHY my doctor never mentioned this when I have a history of acid reflux- although it was completely controlled on Prilosec. I'm suffering unmercifully now with heartburn and I get no control or relief. Brings me to tears every day and I'm only 5 weeks post? He tells me the surgery-one or the other- makes no difference? I had a few complications and a hernia repair too- and I will never do another surgery. Am I going to never find relief? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Everyone keeps saying give it time so that is all I can do.... my big plan now is working on the GURD... I believe once I can get this under control I will feel better:-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Anyone have any relief from the GURD? Mine is almost unmanageable now after sleeve (9/5). I take daily Prilosec and a pepsid- little to no relief. So excruciating - need to make appointment with GI, but just hoping relief insight. Any success stories out there? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Looking good- congrats! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Carlaw- thank you- I agree. I'm going to turn to the lord and ask for his healing touch! I'm 5 weeks post op and I feel terrible and still can't eat anything. I am not getting enough Protein either. I need a higher power to help me- I'm going to pray every moment of struggle and let God take up this struggle for me:-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Sept 5th for me.... 2 weeks and having meatloaf for dinner? OMG! Tonight I had 2 very tiny bites of meatloaf- made me queasy:-( decided to just go with a lemon Italian ice instead. Was able to drink a glass of Water today too. Loosing a pound a day and down 40 lbs total since surgery. I'm one of the unlucky ones. Boy do I wish I could drink more- I'm so thirsty:-( most important is I need to get some protein!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. A little colace with stimulant worked:-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. Anyone out there a few months or more that can say if it comes back? For me it's just about every food and drink I've tried is revolting. Really getting to me and now- I need to eat something I don't have to literally gag down! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I tried hot and sour soup Friday and it burned a little in my chest. I'm going to try again in another couple weeks! My heartburn is really bad though. I hope once that subsides I will tolerate a bit more spicy:-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Sleeved on 9/5- any liquids are a challenge. Although I think it's getting better each day. I'm really waiting and longing for a normal small meal and a glass of sweet Water soon:-( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. My date is the 5th- just having extreme head hunger- longing for a salad and possibly a PP&J sandwich soon! lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I feel exactly as you do. Not being able to bite and swallow food is causing deep depression. I don't care what it is I just need to eat something other than Jello. I am very much second guessing this decision and hope it gets better soon. I can't imagine life without eating- I pray I will be able to eat normally, albeit, less sometime soon! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. My surgery was 9/5 and I am so hungry I'm becoming deeply depressed from starvation and not being able to chew and swallow- I literally can't think of anything else... Any advice out there? My doctor still has me on just liquids :-( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
