  1. Oh no, that just made me sad! It's the most awkward thing to have gas noises coming out while you're trying to talk. I will have to ask my doctor about the papaya enzymes! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Also- has anyone else experienced a sulfur/egg taste after burping? That's all I seem to have and that taste is what's making me feel ill. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Wow, thank you all so much! I can tell this time is going to be full of ups and downs! I just went with my husband to pick up my kids after being with the inlaws the past week and got sick out of nowhere because the burping and aftertaste it leaves, my body finally couldn't take it! Does this gas last forever or is it all just because of the surgery? Please tell me it's not forever because I'll be talking and rumbles just pop out of my throat. And then I worry that the 30 grams of Protein I had for the day are gone now and I don't have the willpower to force myself to get that protein and another 30 down again. I'm sorry to sound so negative. I'm truly appreciative of the thoughts and motivation! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Thank you! That is good to hear! I'm having trouble with these gassy burps that have an eggy taste and those alone are making me sick. I can't keep my Protein down because of it. Anyone have trouble with that and know how I can get those to go away? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's awesome news! Please let me know what your NUT says, I'll ask mine too! 5. I feel your pain, but It sounds like we have some positive things coming our way and we need to look forward to those. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yes we do and I hope it gets better. These gas pains are HORRIBLE and I'm so sore Sent from my HTC Desire 626s using the BariatricPal App Gas-X to the rescue!!! They make dissolvable strips. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App My doctor didn't suggest them, when I called today to talk about the gas, but I need to ask on Monday! Do the strips clear out the gas or stop the gas? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yes we do and I hope it gets better. These gas pains are HORRIBLE and I'm so sore Sent from my HTC Desire 626s using the BariatricPal App Are you burping a lot? I am and it helps but then the taste makes me gag! Can't win! Haha Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  8. Did you purchase the patches from the store on these boards? That is so encouraging to hear that! The NUT scared me to death talking about permanent damage to your body from not taking Vitamins, so that's stressed me out worrying about not keeping them down! That is encouraging to hear that things are looking up for you after feeling regretful. While doing the preop diet I was obsessed with watching the weight fall off and now that the surgery is over I don't even care, because I'm so upset about myself for doing this. Thank you for your words of encouragement! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I will! And hope to have a success story like yours too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Thank you so much, Kelleylu- it's nice to know I'm not alone! And I'm so glad my first week post op is almost over! I'm ready for things to look up! :-) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Djmohr- I was hoping you'd respond! You always have such a kind and genuine response to everyone on these boards. I have to remember this and know that down the road is when I'll feel better about everything! Thank you so much! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. The reviews on them (on their store page) seemed amazing... what a stress reliever that would be not to have to worry about taking those! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Yes I feel like it has been a source of stress too thinking I'm going to get sick not taking Vitamins or drinking enough Protein. Also- I started my vitamins 4 weeks before surgery. But they were not the kind I have to dissolve in Water. The taste made me gag in addition to the regurgitation! So you think my main focus is to just sip in small amounts? Have you heard anything about the Vitamin patch? I was thinking of trying that until I can take the pills again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Thank you both! The nurse in the hospital told me I could go up to 2 oz every 15 minutes so now I feel like that may be too much. It makes sense about why it's trying to come back up and sit in my throat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. Did anyone else feel this way at first too? I'm having a hard time with getting the Vitamins and Protein down and last night I woke up several times choking on regurgitation. I knew the beginning was going to be a challenge, but I'm hoping to hear positive stories of how it got better for you, & if the first couple weeks was a challenge. I'm looking forward to when I can start thinking positively about making this decision. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. How is everyone feeling? Mine was on Monday and was doing okay until about 5 yesterday and been nauseous and throwing up since. I'm beyond frustrated and nervous I made the wrong choice to do this surgery. The doctor will be here in an hour to assess. I'm so nervous he's going to make me stay another night. But if I'm still throwing up, i'd rather be at the hospital. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
