Got my date!! July 27th!!!
Just had my last appointment with my surgeon and I will be having my surgery on July 27th. It all just got really real. I'm very nervous and excited at the same time. Anyone else have the same date or one close to it? Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

Medically induced stress test?
I have to have a treadmill stress test done as well. Had 2 EKG's that came back adnormal so my doctor wants to make sure my heart it healthy enough for surgery. Mine is on June 13th, a little after yours. I'm nervous as well, but it's for the best and for our safety. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

Mild tricuspid valve regurgitation
I am still getting all of my pre requirements done for surgery and I had 2 EKG's come back adnormal so I had to see a cardiologist. He ordered an echocardiogram and everything looked good except a mild tricuspid valve regurgitation. She said it wasn't anything to be worried about, but I'll have to get cleared from the doctor before I can have surgery. Has anyone else had this issue? It makes me scared having an issue with my heart. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

Negative people
Thank you. Oh yeah I've tried so many different ways of losing weight. Diet after diet, gym memberships, personal trainers, medically supervised medications, ect... Unfortunately my dad's side of the family us obese and I have been struggling since i was a teenager. I haven't been tested, but I'm sure I have some sort of sleep apnea and I do have severe GERD and Barretts esophagus.

Negative people
I had to do an EKG and it came back adnormal so they sent me to a cardiologist. It was the first time I've ever seen him. I want to make sure my heart is healthy before surgery so he is sending me to do an echocardiogram this Wednesday

Anyone plan on sleeve and get bypass instead?
Caught me off guard too. I'm not too far from Seattle. We live on Fort Lewis and I should be having surgery in May

Anyone plan on sleeve and get bypass instead?
Sorry to hear about your Barretts, but it's good to find out about it sooner than later. Are you located in Seattle?

Anyone plan on sleeve and get bypass instead?
I had my heart set on the sleeve too, but because I have Gerd as well, I now have to get bypass. I had my EGD done and found out that I have Barrett's esophagus which was caused by GERD so the sleeve would make it worse. It was hard for me to process that at first, but now I'm fine with getting bypass. I know someone who has GERD and got the sleeve and had a really hard time afterwards so I did not want to go through the same thing. Just do your research on gastric bypass and ask a lot of questions so you are 100% comfortable with your decision. My decision was based on what was the healthiest for me in the long run. Good luck to you [emoji5]

Negative people
Thank You! I knew it would help to hear from people on here. I need to learn how to not care what people think.

Negative people
How does everyone deal with negative reactions from people? I am a couple months away from getting gastric bypass and I just had an appointment with a cardiologist. He was definitely not on board with my getting surgery. I do not have any comorbidities or anything so he thought I should just do it by diet and exercise. I was 100% on surgery and now I feel like I'm letting 1 person make me second guess my decision.

Diet after gastric bypass
Yes they do have one. My insurance requires 7 nutrition appointments but does not cover their nutritionist. So I do them with my PCP Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App

Diet after gastric bypass
I was looking to get some ideas of meals everyone ate after gastric bypass. I will be having my surgery in a few months and want to start eating exactly how I will be eating after my surgery now. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App

Low Vitamin D and B12 levels
Hi! I am going through the same thing. My vitamin D, iron, and B12 are all low. I am taking 50,000 mg of vitamin D every week and B12 every morning. My doctor is going to test my blood again in a few months. Like someone else said, if you live in an area where it rains more and the sun doesn't come out as much, it's more common. We live in Washington state so it's very common here. Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App
