  1. I can't believe it has been 1 year since my surgery, it has gone by so fast. I am so thankful that I got the opportunity to have this surgery and become a healthier, happier, and more confident version of myself. It's crazy to think that I am down 134 pounds from my highest weight and down 119 pounds since surgery. Best decision I have ever made!!! HW 285 CW 151 GW 150 Can't seem to drop this last pound but I'm sure once I stop stressing I will lose it. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

  5. I am just about 3 weeks post op gastric bypass and looking for more ideas of pureed foods. I am so tired of eggs, refried beans and yogurt. I'm going to try the ricotta bake and smoothies tomorrow, but still need a few ideas to keep it interesting. Can't tolerate tofu or fat free gravy and not allowed to have meat yet. Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I'm a little over 3 months out from surgery and have extremely chapped lips. I'm getting all my water and vitamins in and have tried a few different types of chapstick but nothing helps. I have to keep putting it on throughout the day and night. Anyone else experience this? Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Chapped lips

I tried the Aquaphor and my lips felt so much better overnight. Now I only use it a few times a day and I'm good. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. That's exactly what it feels like. I was the same way, I had everything planned out and was set on getting the sleeve too. But once I changed my mindset and started doing all of my RNY research, I started to get excited. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I feel like I just read my own story. I went through the exact same thing as you and I was so upset that I was advised not to get the sleeve because of Barretts esophagus. I did what was best for my health and decided to go with RNY so I wouldn't have to deal with any GERD issues. So on 7-27-17 I had my RNY and it was the best thing I ever did. Do your research on it, but it's not the end if the road for you, it's just the beginning Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Chapped lips

That's what someone else brought up to me too. I've been adding a little more peanut butter to my diet to see if that helps. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anyone Use Tricare?

I have Tricare Standard and we are stationed at JBLM in Washington State. I went through the 6 nutrition counseling and all of the requirements and had surgery on 7-27-17. It was super easy with Tricare...just had to jump through all the hoops Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Looking for a good protein bar that is high in protein and low in sugar. Any ideas? Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. I had the same thing. I twisted a lot one day and felt like I pulled a muscle. It got worse and worse and lasted about a week. Horrible pain and I could not get comfortable in any position. My doctor said that they use glue on all the incisions except for one. They use stitches and they are actually sutured to the muscle. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app

  22. I am 11 days post op gastric bypass and I have had a stapling pain in my lower stomach on the right side. It wraps around to my hip as well. It doesn't hurt if I stay still or lay flat on my back, but once I start moving or lift my legs, it is a stabbing pain that takes my breath away. I've tried heat and ice, but they don't help too much. I'm hoping it just a pulled muscle and not something more serious. It's not a constant pain, bit it comes and goes. I made an appointment for tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. Yes, sorry for the delay. My Dr examined me and said that they use glue on all of the incisions except one. They use stitches and they actually suture to the muscle. We think that I just did too much that day and could have pulled on that suture. I did shave my legs that day and turn to lift something that I shouldn't have. She also said that I had a hematoma and to use a heating pad. She wasn't worried that it was more serious so didn't do any further testing, just come back if it doesn't get better. Each day since then I have felt a lot better. Now I only feel it if I twist or turn a little. Nothing at all like before...that was horrible horrible pain. Thanks for asking Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Yeah I had horrible diarrhea for about 2 days on day 4 or 5. Niw I'm pretty regular Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
  25. I had my surgery on July 27th and went home the next day. I was doing pretty good in the hospital. Walking every hour, burping a lot, and getting in my fluids. Then when I got home everything changed. I was having so much pain that I had to keep taking my pain meds around the clock for 2 days straight. 4 days post op I could hardly get in any liquids and I ended up in the ER for dehydration. After getting IV fluids I felt way better and now set an alarm to get all my fluids in. I am still having a lot of pain around my incisions (mainly 1 that is red and very tender). Really hoping it's not inflected. Today I hit an all time low with my emotions. I cried so much and regret doing this to my body. I've also had a weird taste in my mouth and all the signs of oral thrush (probably from the antibiotics). For 2 days straight I have had horrible diarrhea and can't even keep plain water in. I have a follow up appointment Friday morning so I can speak to my surgeon about everything. I usually try to see the bright side of things, but this sucks!!!! When does it get better? If I knew this was how it was going to be, I don't think I would have gone through with surgery. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app
