Thanks!! No I haven't. I'd like to get some removed in the next year or so@lauratro very impressive! Have you had any skin removal yet? If not, you'll lose another 10-20 lbs (potentially) with the removal.

I can't believe it has been 1 year since my surgery, it has gone by so fast. I am so thankful that I got the opportunity to have this surgery and become a healthier, happier, and more confident version of myself. It's crazy to think that I am down 134 pounds from my highest weight and down 119 pounds since surgery. Best decision I have ever made!

Can't seem to drop this last pound but I'm sure once I stop stressing I will lose it.

I tried the Aquaphor and my lips felt so much better overnight. Now I only use it a few times a day and I'm good. Thanks!

Thanks lauratro for your reply. It's nice to know someone gets it. My best friend not so helpfully said "Who cares how you get there? The outcome will be the same." She doesn't understand. I feel like I spent months planning a trip to Paris, had my daily itinerary planned out, knew which sights I was going to see, the hotels I was going to sleep in, the foods I was going to sample, etc. Then as I was boarding the plane, they said "Ya know what? We are actually going to take you to Rome. You'll still end up having a nice vacation, but you have to figure out what to see, where to sleep, etc."
I've never been a roll with the punches type. I am a control freak, and very type A. I KNOW it will all work out, it has to. Doing nothing is not an option for me.
That's exactly what it feels like. I was the same way, I had everything planned out and was set on getting the sleeve too. But once I changed my mindset and started doing all of my RNY research, I started to get excited.

I feel like I just read my own story. I went through the exact same thing as you and I was so upset that I was advised not to get the sleeve because of Barretts esophagus. I did what was best for my health and decided to go with RNY so I wouldn't have to deal with any GERD issues. So on 7-27-17 I had my RNY and it was the best thing I ever did. Do your research on it, but it's not the end if the road for you, it's just the beginning

Chapstick has wax in it, which dries your lips out. Try just Vaseline. Works wonders and gives your lips a little shine.
That's what I have been using yesterday and today and I only have to put it on 3 times a day. I was using chapstick all day and night. Thanks!

I’m having this problem too. I’m wondering if it’s related to the fact that we don’t consume as much fat in our diet since we’re not eating as much food in general now. Plus what we do eat isn’t broken down or absorbed like it used to be. What do y’all think? I wonder if there are any supplements that would help?
That's what someone else brought up to me too. I've been adding a little more Peanut Butter to my diet to see if that helps.

If you aren’t allergic to it buy lanolin it will fix chapped lips overnight, one application. I use the kind you get in the baby aisle that is designated for breastfeeding women.

I'm a little over 3 months out from surgery and have extremely chapped lips. I'm getting all my Water and Vitamins in and have tried a few different types of chapstick but nothing helps. I have to keep putting it on throughout the day and night. Anyone else experience this?

I have Tricare Standard and we are stationed at JBLM in Washington State. I went through the 6 nutrition counseling and all of the requirements and had surgery on 7-27-17. It was super easy with Tricare...just had to jump through all the hoops

I had the same thing. I twisted a lot one day and felt like I pulled a muscle. It got worse and worse and lasted about a week. Horrible pain and I could not get comfortable in any position. My doctor said that they use glue on all the incisions except for one. They use stitches and they are actually sutured to the muscle.

I am just about 3 weeks post op gastric bypass and looking for more ideas of pureed foods. I am so tired of eggs, refried Beans and yogurt. I'm going to try the ricotta bake and smoothies tomorrow, but still need a few ideas to keep it interesting. Can't tolerate tofu or fat free gravy and not allowed to have meat yet. Thanks in advance

I've tried the fruit ones so far. Not a fan of sweet potatoes

Yes, sorry for the delay. My Dr examined me and said that they use glue on all of the incisions except one. They use stitches and they actually suture to the muscle. We think that I just did too much that day and could have pulled on that suture. I did shave my legs that day and turn to lift something that I shouldn't have. She also said that I had a hematoma and to use a heating pad. She wasn't worried that it was more serious so didn't do any further testing, just come back if it doesn't get better. Each day since then I have felt a lot better. Now I only feel it if I twist or turn a little. Nothing at all like before...that was horrible horrible pain. Thanks for asking

Have you opened your bowels much since op? I hadn't since day after surgery (I'm day 11 like you) and didn't think I had to go as I thought my body was absorbing what I had consumed, but then I thought, hmmm what if I'm blocked?..so I took some liquid agarol last night and had to go a little this morning..I was having sharp pains yesterday too..
Yeah I had horrible diarrhea for about 2 days on day 4 or 5. Niw I'm pretty regular

I had that awful feeling on my tongue too and found out it wasn't thrush but because the body is in ketosis...it's has eased up a bit with brushing and mouthwash but it kind of makes everything taste yuck doesn't it..
Yes, everything tastes gross. Hoping it goes away soon

I am 11 days post op gastric bypass and I have had a stapling pain in my lower stomach on the right side. It wraps around to my hip as well. It doesn't hurt if I stay still or lay flat on my back, but once I start moving or lift my legs, it is a stabbing pain that takes my breath away. I've tried heat and ice, but they don't help too much. I'm hoping it just a pulled muscle and not something more serious. It's not a constant pain, bit it comes and goes. I made an appointment for tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks in advance
