  7. Cheers guys - anyone here from Brisbane being sleeved - & any dr adibs patients
  8. As far as I know, you don't choose the size of your sleeve, the surgeon makes that decision once in there. People with less to lose tend to lose much less the first few weeks and lose more slowly. Meeting "goal" has a lot of variables, but it helps to remember that the more someone has to lose the more loose skin they end up with (usually) and that skin does have weight, though generally not as much as people think. Also, if a person has been extremely overweight for a long period of time their bones become more dense to support their weight. So, their bones actually weigh more. And muscle weight more than fat. So getting down to a certain BMI doesn't really tell you much, there are so many other factors to consider. I never thought of all this - good points ????
  9. We have Drs here that state a BMI of 30 is good to do the sleeve ( with previous genuine failed attempts etc) as it prevents the patient getting to the point where they are in a life threatening weight situation and they're healthier on the operating table to do the sleeve - prevents getting unhealthy to get healthy at an earlier and safer intervention point - I'm just saying basics as there would be other factors looked and psyc consult also involved - but makes sense - Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
