4 days post op and I'm worried

I was told that our Protein Shakes were not to be part of our daily Fluid intake. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App That's BS. They count towards liquid. Who told you that??? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App My program wanted to have at least half of the liquid coming from clear liquid, but I chose to not count shakes toward my liquid goal at all just so I can get the most fluid. Kind of like setting your clock. 5 minutes ahead so you aren't late lol Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Coffee... It's My One True Love

I was also told as long as I'm meeting goals I can have coffee.I haven't yet but may have my first cup tomorrow. And same as above its in addition to my Fluid goals not included and to drink more to balance it out Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

1 week out. Not dealing so well.

You can do it. I relate with what you said about the smells.I feel like my nose is somehow more sensitive since surgery. Do you have an unflavored Protein powder you can mix into your broths and Jello? It might take the edge off some cravings. Just try to focus on your liquid and protein goals and activities that can distract you. It won't be this way forever and before you know it you'll be eating some real foods again. I believe in you! Vitamin Recommendations?

The program I'm in recommends taking 2 Flintstone chewable, since they have Iron. The gummy Vitamins don't have iron. Works for me, the Flintstone are tasty. I also got a sample of a specific chewable Vitamin for bariatric patients but honestly preferred the Flintstones Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Portland, OR

I met with Samer Matar and ended up going with a different surgeon because he was absolutely awful. However, if your insurance covers him, I would assume they would cover the other surgeons that work in the program. My surgeon was Farah Husain and she's been amazing. Overall the program through OHSU was in my opinion very good. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
