Parents with young kids out there?
I'm 31yr with 3 kids. 6yo, 3yo and 6month old. I'm getting the sleeve this coming Saturday. I've organised my sister in law to live at my place while I'm in hospital so my hubby can visit me through the day. Hubby is also having the week of and I've arranged help for the weeks after. I think if your organised it will help recovery because you won't be so stressed. I had the lap band at 22yrs and just last year I needed to go in for emergency sugery to have the band removed because it slipped. I personally had a lot of issues with the band. Plus I had to arrange appointments for adjustments with the sleeve I'll see the surgeon at 2 weeks then every 3 months. With the band I was sometimes going every 3-5 weeks. There are risks with either band or sleeve. Good luck weth your decision xx

G'day
My father in law was from the Cook Islands and he swore by coconut water for dehydration. He said if you buy a coconut and open it yourself it's better than the prepackaged stuff. No idea about how much is to much, he made me have some while pregnant and I was gagging for ages lol

Progress not perfection
During my pyshratric appointment today we discussed ago the little changes I've made over the past month. My doctor and hubby point out to me that it's the small changes that will lead to bigger changes. Sometimes I get discouraged and get in a negative mindset. So I thought I'd jump on here and share and I'd love to hear from others how little changes have helped. 6 weeks ago I was demand breastfeeding my now 6.5month old and I've been able to reduce that down to 1 breastfeed after her bath. This was a goal for me. I no longer eat chocolate and chips like crazy, I've switched to eating 60%-80% chocolates (one piece and I'm done). 4 weeks ago I was always buying chips and choc whenever I went to the shops and in large amounts. I've increased my step while walking. Is walk slow and really small steps, when I increased my stride my foot and leg muscles felt it. Please share your progress ????

I spoke to my surgeon about falling off the wagon, he was supportive. Feek I'm so glad your home! Mind telling me how much you've lost?? Hope today is a racist day for you to get fuilds in. Remember "sip, sip, sip" lol I'm seeing my pyshratric Dr today, it's helping me with my mindset. Hope everyone have an awesome day xx

Why some & not others?
So why do some of us have to be on pre-op diets and others not at all? A bit confusing, I'm curious to know why doctor's around the world do it differently.

October sleevers?
Eek it's right around the corner to October! I love knowing there are other people going though the same progress as me! I'm having doubts, I told my husband that on Monday I'm canceling again (we went through this last weekend) but now it's Monday I've decided to not cancel. When I choose to have the surgery I know no matter what I needed to stand by that choice come he'll or high Water. So even though I want to cancel because of my fears I won't. I fear that I won't lose any weight at all, which is almost impossible but I feel like I'll be that 0.1% who doesn't lol Good luck everyone. Hope your all going well xx Hi ebony, im 10th oct in Sydney, where are you getting yours done? Im Norwest Private hosp. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App St George with Dr James Chau. You? I'm in western Sydney. Ive heard he is very good. Im dr roy brancatisano. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App I used Circle Of Care in 2007 for my Lap Band and last year when I had the emergency surgery to have it removed because it slipped. I decided to go a different route this time. A whole new team. He is one of the most experienced Doctors in this field so you'll be in good hands! Have you started your pre-op diet yet?
