  1. I just had band to bypass and was only on clear liquids week one now week 2 I am on yogurt pudding and strained cream soups
  2. I had the same problem. I didn't realize that was the cause and every morning I would wake up feeling like I was dying. I had my 1 week post op yesterday and dr told me it was because of it and to switch to rule on and I fee SO much better. He said it takes 2 days to get out of your system
  3. Thank you [emoji5] good luck to you too[emoji179]
  4. Hey! Thanks for responding! I don't recall my surgeon setting goals for me.. at least not yet ( lose x smith by this time for example). Right now I am 8 days post op and I am down 23 lbs since surgery. I actually gained on my pre op. I assume that this rapid weight loss will stop soon so I was just trying to get an idea of what people's average percent or lbs lost around 3 months
  5. How much weight have you lost at 3 months post op after RNY?
  6. Ahhh! That is awesome! Definitely keep in touch! [emoji173]️
  7. That is terrible I am glad that you will soon have your bypass! By the way what part of AZ are you from? I lived in Gilbert the last 6 years but am temporarily in New York
  8. Yes I feel the same way! And I am okay. Healing up fine but every morning I wake up nauseas, burning and dizzy. At my 1 week apt today the doctor told me it was most likely the Percocet so I haven't taken any today to hopefully tomorrow I will be normal because I have things to do and I need to drive [emoji21] I did advance to soft foods today and had strained cream of broccoli and it was so good! Eating makes me nervous now though lol I am glad you are doing great!!
  9. Yes! I just had my band to bypass and when I got home and weighed myself and was 5lbs heavier but was reassured it was iv fluid. It took about 2 days to lose don't worry!
  10. Just had my 1 week post op apt and I have been cleared for soft foods ahhh! Can't wait to have yogurt lol. While I saw my doctor I explained to him how everyday since I've been home immediately when I wake up I feel hot and dizzy and nauseas and very ill. Liquid Tylenol only made it worse so I waited and took the Percocet I was sent home with and I felt so much better! But then it turned into a cycle where in the morning I'd feel like **** and then by nighttime I was lively, no pain feeling food. He then explained that it was mostly likely side effects from the Percocet and to take pill Tylenol. The thing is is that I have never had that terrible side effect from Percocet although it's very common. Anyone else have this problem?? I am going to refrain for the day and see how I feel tomorrow morning [emoji855]
  11. Are you really surprised? I like this forum but there are quite a few arrogant, self righteous posters who stick their heads and opinions on a lot of posts because to them "they are right"! [emoji849] those people (probably know who they are) are the worst! That being said you can't take everyone seriously lol but I get where your coming from
  12. Awesome! Won't lie I am excited to be able to eat some Nice healthy foods! And thank you very much! [emoji173]️ how is everything at 5 weeks out?
  13. Girllllllll I am 6 days post op and I have been thinking about food non stop! I've been thinking and craving food so much it almost turned into a game with my fiancé where I just call out what I am craving that minute. Plus my girls gotta eat and I am strong enough to where I don't have to run and hide when some eats around me but damn. I just keep telling myself the horrendous consequences of even sneaking a bite a this stage and I remind myself how if I stay honest on this diet I will reap the rewards. 6 days out and down 20lbs so I don't want to be the reason why that goes back up. You will be ok! [emoji173]️
  14. Hey there! Sorry to hear about what you have went through, I just had my band removed + revision to the bypass 6 days ago and I am down 20 lbs. my band was NOTHING but trouble since day 1 and it spiraled me into depression for the three years I had to deal with it. Already my RNY has been good to me and I haven't even been able to go to the gym yet! I personally highly recommend the RNY because all of these wls are equally risky in their own way! If you have any questions please ask although like I said I'm only 6 days out ! Good luck [emoji173]️
  15. Thank you so much! You have brought up some really great points! The last time I went to Disney land it was November in cali so I didn't really worry about water so thank you for the reminder! I'm gonna look into the camelbak right now!! [emoji16]
  16. In September my fiancé and I will be celebrating our ten year anniversary and have booked a trip to Disney World! By September I will be 5 months post op, I'm not quite sure what my meal requirements/ limitations will be or what to expect when it comes to taking bites of food/ brining my own bari friendly food to save money and agony so I wanted to see if anyone has been there post op? Thanks
  17. This sounds amazing, thank you!
  18. I would advise that you reconsider the Lap band. They are being phased out by surgeons all over the country because if there failure and complication rate! I've just my band taken out and revised to the RNY. I wish I would have just skipped the lap and and went for the RNy in the first place. The band got me to the point where I was vomiting 6 times a day and could barely keep water down after 3 years of no weight loss. That being said if your daughter still wants the band try to get an Aetna or bcbs shield insurance. I have BCBS and only paid $575.00 for the revision and bypass. Best of luck
  19. Hey there! I experienced the same thing! My DR is one of the best, at least in NY and his wife is also a dr that works in the office as well as his son and daughter. My first time there I met with his wife first and explained that I do smoke but would quit, I've been obese all my life, I like sweets but I have no co morbidities and she was set on the sleeve because* I am young (25), relatively healthy, and if I ever took smoking back up it wouldn't be as harmful as with the rny. I was like okay sounds great. When the actually surgeon met with me he was adamant on the RNY because of my life time obesity, and because of my terrible reflux and because it's the gold standard the only way he would do it is if I quit smoking otherwise he would cancel surgery. Ya know what I did? I quit smoking and went with the rny and now Im 4 days post op already down 10 lbs! I was nervous as F about the RNY but all of these surgeries are invasive one way or another and I feel great..plus with the sleeve they pull your excess belly out of your belly button [emoji31] I just wanted to give you my input because my rny is already treating me well and it's not as scary as my former self and some people think it is. Best of luck [emoji171]
  20. Hey, no problem! I agree with what you said... some people seem to be a bit sensitive tho lol. I don't really think you were rude you just have an opinion like the rest of us! And good luck to you too doll!
  21. Thank you so much! Yes I had surgery on 4/5 8 am and was discharged yesterday so about 2.5 days! When I got home I felt great and still do. I notice that I am up more because I can't quite find a comfortable position on my bed but the Percocet helps with that lol otherwise I am definitely struggling with head hunger but I just laugh at myself because I have no other choice. I still have moderate pain mostly in the area of the port removal and I have my follow up on weds day.. I will say that I am down 7lbs since surgery day but I know it's mostly because of water and bloating [emoji228] haha
  22. Don't let that worry you.. i promise you it is going to be okay. When I saw my surgeon after surgery he mentioned that he was able to get all the scar tissue from my band out and I realized that, I had never really considered that to be a problem. Just relax and start putting good vibes out there in time for Monday! You need to be calm and healthy for surgery! Big hugs! P.s I just had a band to bypass on the 5th and I feel great! It will all work out! [emoji256]
  23. I am glad you are feeling better and that the Pea protein is working for you. As far as having the runs in the hospital.. girl let me tell you. The morning of my last day I was able to relieve gas for the first time since surgery and I was happy because I thought it would let me get rid of the gas pain... and it did. But boy I was NOT prepared for what was to come. Sorry for the TMI but the first time I was going to make a bowel movement I was embarrassed because I didn't want these nurses that I had gotten to know to walk into the bathroom and see it (they put measured bowls in the toilet) and it was in thy moment that I had to decided whether I was gonna sh*t my pants or in the bowl. I physically had to get over that worry because the rest of my last day was ALL that. I couldn't wait to be discharged so I could do it in my own home LOL! My point is, is that you will be fine! Just keep listening to your body [emoji23][emoji1]
