  1. Hello again! Yesterday was my surgery. went back about 9:00 and was in a room by 10:45. Went home at 2:30. I am very sore today. The worst pain was the gas pain in my shoulders. Other than that, doing ok. I am so excitied for this new start.
  2. Yes, that is what they said. I hope I have been on it long enough to shrink my liver. I will have been on it 5 days before my surgery. I am getting very nervous today. Being put to sleep scares me so much.
  3. Hello everyone. I am a teacher in Alabama. I am married and have one son. Have been on my BCBSAL insurance journey since August. I was approved on Feb. 22. I am getting banded on March 4th (my birthday)! I am so excited! I want to feel healthy and have some energy. I love this website. It provides so much support.
  4. My Pre-Op diet is high protein. No carbs for the next seven days. Anyone else have this one?
  5. I don't think it is required, but an option. If at all possible, I want to come home that night. What about everyone else? Did anyone else stay the night?
  6. I am having it at MMCS. Is that where you had yours? Wow! You have already lost 19 pounds! That is great. I am hoping to have that kind of result also. How was your experience at the hospital?
  7. :biggrin:I am so excited! Went today to meet with Amy (she is wonderful). Scheduled my surgery for Tuesday, March 4! Yea, it's my birthday. So now, it will be a new beginning. I am so excited. I go on the pre-op diet in the morning. I had my birthday cake tonight:) Didn't get to meet Elizabeth. Did meet Darlene! Love her! They are all so kind in the office. I am counting down the days!:blushing:
  8. I also went to Dr. Toutliatous' seminar. My friend actually was banded by him in November. She has lost 45 pounds. I needed a doc that would spend more time with me. She is a nurse and doesn't mind the in and out quick, not much conversation. I need that. I have a few other friends that have had it with Dr. Britt. My husband just had a hernia repair with him on Friday. I got to experience the hospital staff and was really pleased. It is actually closer for me than Bham. I hope that the office staff can help you out. When I called BCBS, I got different answers also. I am a teacher so my insurance my be a little different also. Good Luck.
  9. Once they had everything, they submitted mine on Friday. I knew within minutes! The key is Dr. Britt's office staff make sure you have what you need before they turn it in to BCBS. There is a chance they will not accpet it online and have to fax it in, which will take longer for approval. I in the moring to meet with Amy in Dr. Britt's office and to schedule my surgery. I hope that I can have it next Wednesday:thumbup:. Keep it up. It will be worth it in the end.
  10. I am also using Dr. Britt. I was just approved on Friday! They make it easy with the forms that they provide for you to take your doctor. Hang in there.
  11. I have BCBS of AL also. My doctor said it has to be one visit each month with them being around the same time each month. I have just finished mine and was approved last Friday. I would think you may have to start from the Jan. visit. I hate to say it, but they look for anything to deny you. You can continue and submit, if they deny, you can just keep going then. Which doctor are you going to use? I am using Dr. Britt in Guntersville. His office staff are wonderful! They will do everything they can to help you. Keep trying.
