  1. Try the bariatric timer app? You insert the times when you eat and drink. Then just get into the mindset that the app will tell you when to eat and drink. And no seconds! I think it takes 2 weeks to get used to a new behavior, so just stick to it. Nilla
  2. Sorry, no celebrating here. My outfit that evening was hoodie, sweatpants & wool socks underneath a sherpa blanket. "Soon to be former obese person watching tv"? Nilla
  3. I can't wait for my tighs to keep to their own sides!! Nilla
  4. Thank you, likeminded people! I'm still pre-op for about 17 days. I have been staying off this site and chosen the posts I read carefully. I have made a plan for my wls journey and I don't want to stray from it because someone else makes self destructive choices. I got worried that the bad attitudes would catch me like a cold. When I first joined, I found it amusing to read about the tacos, t-bone steaks by mistake and swedish fish beeing soft food. All the things you should know not to do if you did your research, even skimming through the basics. Lately I have been talking to people who have just had their surgeries, read up on complications and really thought about my choice. I find that more valuable than trying to talk to the people who made their bad choices already and end their posts with "no negative comments allowed". But then again, I need the people that make the mistakes, so my odds of reaching a healthy weight increases... Thanks for being here and please hold me accountable if I stray off my intendend plan! No fuzzy feelings or pretty packages required, I need to make the most of it! Nilla
  5. My pre-op diet lunch, while I was reading your posts: salad, 1 egg, 2 slices of serrano ham and 1 tomato. It added up to 145 cal, 22g Protein, 3g carbs and 8g fat. The fat content and calories are really a little bit less, since I removed the visible fat from the ham. It was yummy! Ok, a little high on the sodium... Nilla What a shitty pic!! Sorry, at least you won't get hungry ???? Nilla
  6. 11th day of my pre-op diet, doing well, the weight is coming of quite nicely. 17 more days to go! Nilla
  7. Hi! I'm Nov 21st, all the way in Europe. There is a private fb group called RNY November 2016, if you want join. Just make a request and I'll add you. Most members are from the US. Nilla
  8. cheese lover here too! For now, snacking on a lower fat Magre. I also love local hard cheese that has red wine in it. Wine makers special... It's like a parmesan, but not as hard with a delicious red wine note. Yummy! costco is ok for cheeses. We usually get the sliced Finlandia, because it's closest to European cheeses. We are spoilt here! Nilla
  9. I love Diablo!!! It has been a while since I've played, since hubby is sick. We always play coop games together. (Yes, I have to admit, also Lego puzzle games....) Obsessions right now: - my down jacket that will be too big for me soon - tracking my Proteins - watching weight loss shows on youtube - weight loss forums Yes, surgery date is coming up this month I'm obsessed, I admit. Nilla
  10. I'm still on my pre-op diet, but I figured out (finally!!) that carbs are my enemy and Proteins my friend. Pretty basic, right? I ate carbs, I got cravings. I eat proteins, I stick to my diet. I'm getting rny on Nov 21st and my diet is going so well that my hubby asked (very nicely, I might add) if I really need it. It'll be my insurance, in case I get some stupid ideas. Nilla
  11. It's from Lipton, but not decaf. One of those pyramid shaped things. I'm allowed caffeine on my diet. Nilla
  12. Monday morning, week 1 of 4 of my liver shrink diet done. Todays weight 236.3! Nilla
  13. I started my diet on monday, but mine allows for some veggies and lean meats, but in restricted amounts. The first days are usually the trickiest. I distract the cravings with flavoured tea like blueberry cupcake and apple cinnamon. Maybe try freezing a shake and eat like icecream? Haven't tried it yet, but I will at some point ☺ I have to say I have had a suprisingly easy time with my diet. Maybe because I put myself on a 1300 cal limit for a month before this final diet? Nilla
  14. Cowgirl and Betty Suarez from Ugly Betty..? ???? Nilla
  15. What a great start!! Keep up the good work! Nilla
  16. 243.2... yup, I was at my Moms for an extended weekend and feeding clinic. So no dieting allowed. I was 3 lbs lower on thursday... But my 4 week pre-op liquid diet starts today, finally! Nilla
  17. I'm getting the rny, but I really enjoyed your story. You have a very vivid way of describing sounds and feelings. Personally I'm just too curious to keep my eyes closed, even though I've seen op theaters a few times already. Good luck with going forward and peeling layers off the real you for the world to see! Nilla
  18. Can I have regular yogurt while on liquid diet Sent from my HTC Desire 626s using the BariatricPal App Can I have regular yogurt with liquid diet Sent from my HTC Desire 626s using the BariatricPal App Check your plan or ask your surgeon or nut, since it depends on where you had your surgery. I would go with plain greek yogurt diluted with milk, add sweetener if needed. (if yogurt is on your plan) Nilla
  19. Which brand and where did u buy it Sent from my HTC Desire 626s using the BariatricPal App GENEPRO unflavored Protein powder seems to be popular. You can mix it to almost anything. Just be careful not to heat it, since it can lose some of it's potency. You can add it to warm broth but don't put the protein in the microwave. It also mixes to cold stuff like milk or yogurt. Use unsweetened almond milk if you have problems with lactose. Nilla
  20. Thanks for the tip, let's see what we get! Nilla
  21. 241.2 this very early Monday morning Have a great week everyone! Nilla
  22. I have a rare disease that might make me bleed more easily, so they want to check to be sure. Didn't matter that I already had my gallbladder and appendix removed, along with a few more surgeries. I never had a issue, but I go along so they can be more comfortable. I'm quite used to beeing poked by now... Nilla
  23. I still have a few appointments left, spirometry tomorrow, hematology 11/3, pre-op 11/10, endoscopy 11/15. And a bunch of blood tests. My 4 week liquid diet starts Oct 24th. I will stay busy. Nilla
  24. I just found this theard ???????????? My deepest gratitude to everyone for a terrific ab workout! Nilla
  25. This is rants and raves!! I'm one of those people who doesn't speak english as my first language, it's my third. I can still easily spot sarcasm and humor, it's a welcomed break in my weight loss journey. I find the banter funny. What I don't find funny is to read selfdestructive posts that are looking for cheerleaders. What if someone new to this forum thinks it's actually ok to eat whatever junk OP is talking about and destroys their staples/suture line? And has to have a feeding tube for the rest of their lives? I don't want that to happen because the destructive behavior wasn't corrected by a simple post. I came here for support. If I do something that's bad for my health or weight loss success and I post about, I want to be corrected. I did a lot of research, but I'm sure there is still plenty that I don't know, since I'm still pre-op. I need the vets to answer my tricky questions, not validate any poor choices I might make along the way. They have proven that what they did, actally worked. I also don't appreciate comments that the vets should leave. This forum is for everyone and the vets are just as entitled to support as any of us. The mental struggle doesn't end at the date of the surgery, since the scars can be visible on our stomachs, not between our ears. I thank you all for your continued support! Nilla
