  1. I just wanted to say I love this kind, understanding and helpful post. This is what being a Bariatric PAL is about. Not mocking people or trying to make them feel horrible for an uninformed choice. If you read this posters profile she doesn't' have medical insurance and paid out of pocket. She isn't in a program and doesn't have the information we do. This was our chance to help her and instead she's been run off by people just being mean because they are stunned by what she posted. It makes me sad. Seeing posts like yours makes me feel a bit better about our fellow travelers of this weird, life changing journey. I think you are giving her too much credit calling this meal an uninformed choice. She was on this board for a long time before her surgery if you look at her join date. So she knew...but she also clearly has a totally different view on life based on what I saw on her profile here and on FB. Her niche is BBW adult entertainment, which means she never intended to get to a normal BMI or a healthy weight. She has to stay big for her fan base. She just needed to drop 50 lbs quickly without the constraints of the programs we have in the US. I just hope it's worth it when she's an old lady looking back at it. Shrimp gate

This is a response to a thread started about someone's first real meal 23 days after surgery containing fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, creamy shrimp pasta, rice and an alcoholic beverage. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App That's what I call a "bait post". She knew exactly what kind of response she was going to get....

    So the honeymoon is over?

This is everything my nutritionist preaches. She already wants me at 1050 calories and that was at 2 weeks out. I haven't gotten there yet but I make the effort every day,
  5. Addicts tend to use self-pity to make excuses for their behavior, to justify it, to rationalize it... So that's why I refuse to give anybody more reasons to play the victim role. They'll use that victim role to justify their actions. Making excuses for them, not calling out their coping mechanisms = being an enabler. They will flourish in self-pity, and we already know self-pity is extremely toxic. I wouldn't add to it. Addicts need straight answers to know the consequences of their actions. For example, if you eat solid food on post-op day 3, you can hurt yourself. Should you eat that? No, you shouldn't. Can you? Of course you can, but you shouldn't. Not being argumentative here, just stating my opinion. Yep. It's really that simple.

    Just over a week.. Pain

    miralax...take it.
  7. I have 2 jobs, 1 easy desk job I work PT at night and and my day job. I had surgery on 12/21 went back to the night job on 12/27...I shouldn't have the 1st night was torture. I went back tot he day job on 1/2 and again I shouldn't have. I went ahead and used my doctors not to take 2 weeks from my day job, Id rather go back 100%. 2 weeks from both jobs would have been ok, 3-4 weeks from both to get my eating and drinking perfected would have been perfect.
