    Weight Loss Rate/Patterns

I was at surgery 263, a month later down 25. At 6 weeks i am stalled and go between 237 and 240 on any given day. When I say frustrating and baffling! I have started to ramp up on activity so hoping i buss through this stall soon. I think i am on track and my nutritionist and surgeon were pleased. I have to admit that these 20 sum odd pounds feel good gone. I can do 3 flights if stairs before i start heaving. Before i was leaning after the 1st. Onward, we press Forward! HOLIDAYS!

1 Month out... My surgery was Dec 1st. I was 263, I am almost 5'2". After surgery the first 3 weeks i was in severe pain. My only issue was pain. I could tolerate the shakes, Vitamins, Water, Soups, all the necessary requirements. I never suffered from nausea nor have i vomited once. Every Now and again i get the stuck feeling but nothing serious. Just pain... I had catscans ave several test which were all normal. I may have pulled an abdominal muscle is the only culprit my doctors had. Today i can't stand Protein Shakes. And honestly my diet is not right. I have progressed to soft foods... Mainly fish which i can eat a few ounces with no problem. I think actually all i eat is fish cheese and greek yogurt. I can stomach Isopure but it takes all day to get through. I miss most... salad. I can't wait for raw veggies. I stalled from week 3-4 with no change in weight... And that was also christmas where i tasted pinches of all wrong things while visiting family. Total lost thus far 23 lbs... i am 240... And its been forever. I notice the weight lost in my face, mainly my cheeks. My guy rubbed my back and said it was easier for him to rub... Not as wide. MEN#. I can tell my upper body has lost some fat but not really noticeable in clothes yet, i have a little room in my thighs in some of my tight pants but not yet at a place of buying smaller clothes. Hormones... 1st i've been a lil aroused. I haven't really been in about 6 or more months. The big change... So far i'm late and i have been on schedule most of my life so this is a new phenomenon. No feeling of blues or regret. Wish everybody health and success!

    Lost 120 pounds, Now what?

My highest weight was 269, my surgery weight is 263. I was thinking about how i would handle the loose skin and what if i need surgery. What i plan on doing is tapping out at 170... and working out to gain muscle. It was never my desire to be skinny but to be healthy. I don't want to cringe at the extra skin after i underwent this surgery. I want to feel and look pleasing to my own eye... alone necked inthe mirror. All the best to you! Well it's day 4. The pain is starting to subside but this is the first day that I struggled with getting my liquid and protein intake in. I don't trust my scale it says I am down 8 lbs already. Each day is a new challenges just keep pushing through. I know I can't lift more than 10 lbs but I am eager to start on these arns... that's going to be my key target area to put on muscle so my skin won't sag miserably.

December 1st.. I've been sleeved... The surgery part not so bad... the team just ran a little behind. While waiting all the different care teams came in to introduce themselves and explained thier roles. My surgeon came in last. Asked me if I have any questions and introduced his Resident. I was given an anti nausea patch and pull then sent to the Surgery Theater. In recovery I have no recollection. However in my room the pain immediately hit me. I have been dealing with pain management all day. It would subside then start back up. It's only the side where the stomach was removed. Aside from pain, the other issue is my bladder. It's been full the entire time... every time I go tinkle... they take an ultrasound to determine how full it is.... hoping for no catheter... especially since I am "girling" right now. The walking... I haven't managed to do much because of the pain and being slightly dizzy. But when the pain has intermittently subsides... i am up and at em. I have 6 incisions. All the staff has remarked that I look extremely well for just undergoing serious abdominal surgery. .. guess that's my 1st NSV!!! TIRED & Optimistic. Much success to the rest of you.

    3 DAYS!

Well Tomorrow is the day! DECEMBER 1st.. duhduhduhhhh. Truly mixed emotions. I really have considered backing out. I just am worried about all sorts of things. I'm afraid of loosing too much wait to fast. Worried about the recovery... and worried about not being able to meet the daily requirements. Worried about who i'll be seeing in the mirror and what kinda buried issues will surface. Just so much going through my head! I just got the call telling me the time of the surgery is 8:30... they want me to arrive at 7:30... and thats that from there... So wishing you all the BEST! thoughts, prayers,

I forgot to mention.. I am having a hiatal hernia repair!

Not telling anyone. What do you say?

@@Joy@boman That's exactly what I am telling people. I am having a hiatal hernia repair. I've had several other types of abdominal hernias in my life so this is believable. I haven't gone into details with any one else outside of My Partner/Son and 2 friends close to me. I doubt most people will have the gull to ask me if I had surgery... outside if the hernia. Otherwise that's my story and i'm sticking to it. It's personal for me - and it's about me and the quality of my life. Not anyone else's.

I am Scheduled for Dec 1st. Nervous as all get up. My Surgery is at HUP. The Nursing Class was invaluable... i gained more knowledge than the binder and the weight management classes. I think the WM was honestly a waist of time. We went over my typical intake and set basic goals. But it was no brainer stuff. They were extremely personable and easy to talk to. My Dr. Is Simon. At the Nursing Class 2 other people are scheduled with him on the same day. That made me nervous.. the NP said it's not unusual to have 5or 6 surgeries in one day. Almost there! Thank you all for sharing
