  1. At 4 weeks post-op, I came down with a bad flu bug for a week, I didn't eat from last Monday to Monday 2 days ago, (which puts me at 5 weeks post-op now) and when I started feeling better Monday afternoon I made and ate some tuna noodle casserole, thinking it would be easy on my belly to start eating again. Ever since I have felt like I'm completely starving again like when I first come home from the hospital when I got the sleeve done. So I've been doing some reading and I think I stopped my ketosis by eating those darn noodles. So now I'm trying to figure out how long does the average person stay in ketosis after the surgery, so I can see if I need to work on putting my body back in that that state or not. I know as I am right now, I feel like I'm starving about 2 hours after eating, and I can't continue on like this. All I want to do is EAT. I didn't even feel like this BEFORE the surgery!!
  2. I caught the flu and bronchitis last weekend when my granddaughter came for the weekend and I've been sick in bed since last Monday. (today's Monday again now) I was able to keep down a couple tablespoons of applesauce last night, that was the first thing I've been able to hold down since breakfast last Monday morning. Now, I have been able to hold fluids for the most part, but not the protein shakes at all. I am starting to feel a tiny bit better this morning like maybe I could try to eat something, but I'm scared to try. And I don't know what to try to eat. GOD, I do not want to throw up anymore! I started antibiotics yesterday morning, and I am suppost to eat with them. So I really need to figuire out what I can try so I can take them this morning. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can try to eat so I can take the medication? I figured you guys might know something light and easy on the belly. I can tell I've lost weight being sick this week. As much as I love the weight loss, I'd take the weight back if I could just not be this sick anymore! Needless to say if I can't hold down food, I haven't been taking the vitamins either. I need to get these antibiotics in my so I can start feeling better soon!

  5. I had the gastric sleeve surgery Jan 24th, 2017. Everywhere I go and everyone I talk to asks what my goal weight is. I have no clue, I was never walked through this part. I've read I can lose 60% of excess weight and I've read I'll lose up to 80% of excess weight. I had lost 19 pounds at my 2-week post-op visit, and I weighted myself at a friend's house this weekend (4 weeks post-op) and it said I had lost another 21 pounds. My weight at surgery was 285. That would make me 245, I used some calculator I found online and used the 60% figure, and that said I'd get my weight down to 200. Now I haven't changed my weight in my proflie because it was such a surprise that my weight had dropped that drasticly I just want to weigh myself on another scale to be sure. Although my family says I look like I've lost that much. It just sounds crazy tome that at my 4 week mark I've lost half the weight I'm going to lose. Does anyone know what the correct percentage is of expected weightloss? And how exactly do I figure out my goal weight?
  6. I was 301 the day of my first appointment at my bariatric Dr. On my surgery date 01/24/2017 I weighed in at 285, and at my post-op appointment, today I weighed 266.

So I have lost 35 pounds since this beginning of this journey. Just WOW. I'm just sitting back in amazement and being grateful right now. I can tell on my face I've lost a little weight, but I can not wait to start seeing a difference in my overall appearance.

  7. I went to my first Dr. appointment since my sleeve and I was surprised when I got on the scale. A friend of mine had a bet, she thought I had lost around 15 pounds since the surgery, and I thought maybe 10. Well, I've lost 19 pounds in my 2 weeks since surgery!!! I didn't think it would be that much. I've noticed some weight loss in my face, but that's about it. I was very pleasantly surprised. SO YAY ME! LOL
