  1. Thank you. Yes I do! Best thing I've even done!
  2. Thank you! I thought the recovery was harder then when I had the band. But still very manageable. Get walking as soon as you can. Take your pain meds before you need them in the beginning. Take everything else they offer too! When you're home just focus on resting and letting your body heal. Getting your protein in is important but will be hard at first. Follow the food plan as outlined. There is no need to rush. Yes it's boring but it's temporary. Listen to your body and stop eating before you're full can 'full' can happen quickly. Any questions you have please feel free to message me Good luck tomorrow!! Erinn

  4. It's been 6 months since my Band to Bypass surgery and I feel amazing!! Down 72lbs and a new hair cut! This is me in the summer 2 months before surgery and yesterday while trying on a bridesmaid dress for a friend's wedding in sept. I ordered it 2 sizes smaller [emoji51] Hope that's not too aggressive, but the same dress was VERY tight just a month ago.
  5. Hahah, this is kinda funny, but I'm 6 months post op and have enjoyed eating nuts for at least 3 [emoji12]
  6. I took 4 weeks, but probably only needed 3 and I work as an admin assistant 7 hours a day. Energy will be a probably for you I'd say. I did have nausea at night time the first couple weeks too. It was manageable but would have sucked to have to work through. Good luck.
  7. Wow!! This is exactly what I'd like to do. Can I ask how much? Thanks!
  8. Hi there, Tired a search and couldn't find much. Anyone have plastics in Toronto and have a plastic surgeon they'd recommend or know if one. I want to work with one that is willing to work with OHIP to cover the panniectomy (spelling). Thanks in advance. Erinn
  9. Wow, thank you for sharing. Does someone need to come with you?
  10. Thank you for that!! Like most woman, I certainly am my worst critic.
  11. Wow, maybe you should have read the part about the band had slipped out of position - it was causing daily vomiting. Or better yet not assume I'm an idiot and had not consulted my doctor. I was pregnant when it slipped, and the clinic I paid to put the dumb thing in went bankrupt a year before it slipped. No one would do anything for me till after the baby was born and then I had to wait, just like everyone else.
  12. Killing it girl!! [emoji2]
  13. This is also my only social media account. But I do progress pics for a number of reasons: - motivation - sometimes the scale doesn't move but your inches do and this shows as results in pictures - sometimes the mind doesn't see the changes in the mirror...but the camera always does - to see how far you've come - and again...motivation!
  14. Hi there, glad to hear you're doing well and congrats on all those steps!! I converted from band to bypass on oct 3, 2016. My band slipped and cause almost daily vomiting, eventually the only thing I could eat were sliders. I lived like that for two years. Gain all the weight back slowly. My revision surgery was the best thing I ever did. Almost all the regained weight is off in just 6 months. And of course no vomiting and stick foods. Personally I think bypass is a better tool then the band even when my band was working - just my opinion. Happy belated St. Pat's to you!
  15. So happy for you!! I suffered a long time with my band too. Initially did well, but then it slipped and I had to live throwing up all the time for two years (while pregnant too!). Unfortunately I put all the weight back on plus 10lbs cause all I cold eat were slider foods. I had my revision oct 3 and have almost lost all the weight I regained! So excited to get back to where I was and keep this loser bus going!!! This time it seems much easier (no stuck feelings). Love my bypass!! Good luck on your journey!
  16. Thank you, and everyone else, for your replies! I think I will be heading to the salon soon. This surgery has change me in so many way
  17. Coming up to the 70lb loss mark and considering cutting my hair. Not just a trim but taking it all off. Anyone else cut their hair dramatically after weight loss? If you have pictures would love to see them. This is just a fun chat about what you did to your hair after weight loss. Maybe you died it dramatically or totally change your style. Would love to hear from you.
  18. Lookin awesome! Love your dress!!
  19. At my 3 month appointment, they told me the tires feeling is still normal. Because success with this process comes from a balance of so many things (water, protein, calories, vitamins, exercise - which BTW you shouldn't worry about too much at only 2 months in, just doing some walking and staying active is key, in fact I think you'd still be on restrictions) I would recommend talking to your dietitian to ensure you have the whole picture covered. Yes, you will lose slower because of PCOS. And yes, some ppl just lose slower. As long as it's consistently coming off, just try and be happy with that. I know it's hard when other ppl are killing it, but make sure you're not eating to few calories, that will slow things down.
  20. RNY Oct 3, 2016 - 66.5lbs gone! HW and SW - 292 CW -225.5 So happy with results - it just seems to be melting off. Dropped calories Sunday from 1300 to 1200 as was slowing down to 1ish a week and lost 3 this week! I go to the gym about 3-4 times every two weeks, but I chase a 2 year old every night and all weekend!
  21. 500 cals seems way too low...Your body needs more than that. What does your dietitian recommend?

  24. I was told it takes your stomach 6 months to heal and so they say to at least wait till then. I'm just over 3 months out and had a couple spiced rum and Diet Pepsi over the holidays. No issues with the carbonation, but I definitely felt it sooner. Everyone is different. Listen to your body. Just my two cents Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
