Upcoming surgery in Tijuana and I'm scared

Mine took about three weeks total. From first inquiry to surgery. I used Dr Ortiz at mi doctor hospital in Tijuana. Sleeved Sept 10/2016 HW 267 SW 252 current weight 232

    Dr. Valenzuela? Mi Doctor Hospital?

I had mine with Dr Ortiz at mi doctor hospital. I believe it was previously a military hospital. It is not fancy by any stretch. But I was checked every 30 min or so after my surgery, my husband was provided a bed beside me and didn't leave my side other than when in the OR. English was not a barrier whatsoever, and they were very kind and compassionate. They are more attentive than they are here In Canada. You will be in good hands. Pork Rinds

For me they curb a crunch/salt/Fat craving that other foods don't satisfy. A few bites once a week or so saves me bingeing and gets my mind off of forbidden foods. We are in this for the long haul so I indulge once in a while. If we abstain we will likely fail ..moderation is the key! Sleeved Sept 10/2016 HW 267 SW 252 current weight 232

  6. Hiya! I was sleeved on sept 10 and did not return to work until 3 weeks later. I worked only 4 hours a day in the first week, 6ish the next week.....so had a slow steady return. I definitely found the sink to be my biggest challenge, as your stomach muscles have been cut. The slight bend made for some pulling, but I used the shampoo girl a fair bit. We are also an extremely busy salon so most of those days were without breaks or lunch I'm down 35 in 6 weeks and find remembering to drink is my biggest challenge at work Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What do you eat when you're sick?

Yup. I kept a pot hot at all times on low and absolutely lived on it. Any time my tummy isn't behaving, or when I stall, or feel unwell. It's my go to comfort food Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

What do you eat when you're sick?

Bone broth is extremely healing power food. I would add a scoop of Protein powder three times a day. I sipped it for my entire first week post ok and had zero nausea, zero vomiting and healed very quick! Hope you feel better soon Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    So upset!

Aw, nothing makes me want to stay inside more than the idea of blazing sun!! Walking is needed every day to keep your energy up, but don't make yourself suffer. I have a fit bit, and it will let you know if you are moving enough, you can also set alarms to remind you To move, or drink etc. just doing this allowed me to log 2-3 km a day in steps without any discomfort. Walking is walking no matter where you do it. Hang in there, it gets so much better Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    6 Days Post Op

Try thinning your liquids, or heating / chilling them. Most often it's one little picky thing, and a simple temperature or texture change makes all the difference! Play around with it, as every one of us seems to be different. That should soon be subsiding a bit in its own each day as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Tomatoe soup? Postop diets.

I'm confused, if you eat a thicker soup all you are doing is taking up room in your sleeve that is needed for clear liquid? Usually it is a healing thing why we are restricted to clear Fluid. If you feel dehydrated then Water and electrolytes are needed! Are you sure you're not just head hungry? I was not permitted anything other than unsweetened clear liquids for two weeks post op. 20. So here we have all found a safe, medically monitored way to lose weight yay us . Even under the same guidelines, our experiences are all as unique as we are. Being 100% honest, what is the most over the top, ridiculous thing you have ever done to loose weight? How did it turn out for you? Were you open to people around you about what you were doing? Our fails play just as big a role as our successes in our journeys, I'm curious if people are as "jaded" as I was lol no judgement, just honesty please! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Do you tell your friends or not?

@@gabysmum the statement your friend made " you just need to quit eating" is the kind of comment that makes me want to throat punch people. Really??!? Like we don't already feel under a microscope every time we eat In public. And probably every one of us has tried starving ourselves as well. I sure have! Duh fat people need fuel too! Stupidest statement ever. People don't always think before they speak. This is why only my husband and doctors know my situation. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Helpful Pampering

I also like full body sugar/salt scrubs. They're sosososososo good. Also, I've read they help with excess skin. Who knows if it's true, but can't hurt!I'm an aesthetician and cosmetologist. If you mix up coffee grounds and body wash to a paste and use it as a scrub it helps with the skin. It's very invigorating. Supposedly it helps firm and tighten skin. It's kind of messy. You also can use salt or sugar mixed with your favorite body wash as well. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using the BariatricPal App Do they have to be unused or can I have a cup of coffee out of them? I always wanted another use to them. Thanks Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App I would make the coffee first. Not after lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
