One step forward, two steps back
My NUT says, 64 ounces of fliuds is ideal, but 40 will keep you out of the ER.

Most absurd thing people said to you when you told them you were having WLS?
I admire fans in cities with more than one choice, who STICK to their teams and don't just root for the flavor of the month. Congrats!

Male Post Op Advice
Dr. Weiner says head hunger = addiction. You know it's addiction when you are craving just one food. Real hunger means just about anything will satisfy. I am in the process of trying to find a therapist. I struggle with the same thing that you do.

4 days post-op and barely drinking
My NUT says 64 oz. is the goal (including protein shakes), but 40 oz. will keep you out of the hospital.

Does anyone know why my nose runs when my sleeve is near full? So weird!
Excellent explanation, that makes a lot of sense, thanks!

Regret
I'm sorry you're having a rough time (at life)- I've been there too... It looks like you've lost a ton of weight and I'm sure your health is better. I would advise you just to stick with it and things will get better. Prayers up for you sister.

After Surgery Taste Issues
I have, it works fine. Watch the sugar, though.

Darker means dehydration.

Rice/pasta alternatives
Wow, just made some zoodles, in tomato sauce. Absolutely outstanding. Scratched that pasta itch! I didn't blanche them for a minute as recommended, I sauteed them for a very short time in olive oil. That left them still a little tiny bit crunchy. I could have put some protein powder in the sauce but I didn't, as I've already met my protein goals for the day. This will be a big go-to for me in the future. High recommendation!

Rice/pasta alternatives
I got mine the other day and will try it today or tomorrow. I'm excited about this! Go zoodles! Otherwise I've heard of this thing called Miracle noodles, but the reviews on Amazon are not good.

Starting to get excited.
I fired mine too- he ripped me off with the pre-op blood work, and turns out, I found a MUCH better doctor. God works in mysterious ways...

Surgery date was 6/21/17
Go go Walker!!!

Urine !!!
My doc uses this number as well. I found it weird- I actually never counted, but I felt like my urine was OK.

After Surgery Taste Issues
I still like all of them just as much (which is good since I bought WAY too much for pre-op) but where Chocolate was my least favorite pre-op, it is now my most favorite. (PS- don't throw these shakes away if you can't drink them anymore, send them my way!)

Eating solids- noticing a consistent pattern
That's a good point. My NUT told me not to add veggies until week 6. But it makes sense that the reason I struggle is that I'm eating all protein right now.
-
Eating solids- noticing a consistent pattern
Well see that's what's weird about it. I weigh out 3 ounces, can't finish it. So the next time I weigh out 2 ounces, STILL can't finish it, the same amount of food is left as when I weighed out 3 ounces. I wonder what would happen if I weigh out 1 ounce, hmmm...

Vitamins
The Celebrate chewable bariatric vitamins I take, specify that they need to be spaced out at least two hours. I have to take them four times a day.

Weight loss doing great, but darn, I'm always hungry!!!
I agree a small cooler is in the cards when school starts. Or maybe they have a fridge. Those protein shakes taste crappy to me if they're not ice cold. Also, I was unaware that they sell protein shakes in the gas stations. That's comforting.

UPDATE: I got the "Pantoprazole" tablets and have been taking them for a couple of days and they do indeed seem to help! So thanks you guys for the wonderful suggestion! My doctor was quite reticent to prescribe this and made me promise him that if it wasn't working after three day I'd discontinue- but I'm keeping it!

Why do we fall off the wagon? & How to get back on?
Ms. Brown- I am with you. I don't have any answers for you or for me- I am still searching. But I just wanted to say- sending good thoughts your way.
