First visit with the surgeon today
I had my first visit with my surgeon today . I was surpised to learn that I don't have to have the endoscopy, and no pre-op diet. I was also surprised and concerned, when he said I need a ct scan of my stomach because I have had high blood pressure from such a young age. He mentioned quite a few things that could cause it, but, of course the only one I heard was tumor. Has anyone else had this issue? Oh, I have a surgery date of June 14!!!! To any vets who had never been thin before GS
I'm not sure why, but reading your post, I got tears in my eyes. It could be that you really understand, it could be that I want this so bad, or it could just be because I am tired of the person the weight has caused me to be. I want to be happy, strong and confident. I have only told my immediate family and best friends. I don't feel like anyone else needs to know. I am not really concerned about support, because I KNOW my family and those friends will be there for me. I don't want to be a "mean" person, but I just want my co-workers to know that I AM A PERSON! I am tired of being self conscious, and getting turned down for promotions because people see my lack of confidence as a lack of ability which is so wrong. I'm sorry for going on and on. I have my 1st appt with the surgeon on Jan 16th. Thank you for "listening". Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

To any vets who had never been thin before GS
I was wondering about confidance. I have been morbidly obese most of my life and people(mostly at work) treat me HORRIBLY. I never say anything back, and Tues I actually have to have a meeting w one of the worst ones and my boss so I can tell her how I feel. I don't have the confidance to say ANYTHING. i'm hoping for surgery in June Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

Noosa yogurt?
Thank you everyone! I thought it was too high in sugar, but I tend to forget to look at the carbs. I hope I get better at this once I meet with a nutritionist. I have my 1st surgeon appt on Jan 16th. (I also need to learn how to respond to individual comments lol, they never go where I think they will) Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

Air Fryer
From what I've read, it uses only a tiny bit of oil to "fry" foods. I'm not exactly sure how it works. My only fear, is that if I get one, it might keep giving me cravings for fried foods. I think I'd be better off not eating ANYTHING fried, even if it's healthier. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App Airfryer makes it possible to enjoy healthier version of your favorite foods by frying them with a tablespoon or less of oil and draining excess fat during cooking. The unique starfish shape circulates air around the entire unit, heating up to 390 degrees to ensure all food is cooked evenly. Food becomes crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The Philips Airfryer does more than just fry. It can also grill, roast, steam and even bake your food so you have more quick and easy options when feeding your family or entertaining guests. Gordon Ramsay, a Michelin-star chef and restaurateur, has teamed up with Philips Airfryer and created healthy chef quality dishes that are both fast and delicious. Looking for people who are likely to get surgery in Spring 2017!
I know how you feel. I'm 5'6" and I weigh 275. I have horrible back, knee, foot and side pain. I hate going anywhere that I know I will be walking alot, because I KNOW I will be in pain. I work in a classroom with 2 yr olds, I can no longer squat down to talk to them and I don't know if it feels worse or LOOKS worse when I get up/down on the floor to play with them. I have no confidance, I let people treat me like crap because I guess I don't feel likenI deserve better. I feel that I haven't even LIVED yet, and I am 44 yrs old. I AM READY TO START LIVING!!!! Will I be able to do this?
That's what I'm hoping, that once I eat my protein, I'll be too full to even THINK about carbs. Maybe once I see the nut, I will feel more comfortable. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

I do like the Proteins you mentioned, I think my BIG problem is going to be veggies. I just DON'T like them. I have lost over 100lbs before, but I just cut back on carbs, not completely stopped them. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

Will I be able to do this?
I also have back problems that are getting worse, that is a big motivator for me as well as the fact that I am having a hard time functioning at work, which is also getting worse. I have the motivation! I hope it's enough. Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App

Will I be able to do this?
Hi. I am (hopefully) having sleeve surgery in June, 2017. I have NEVER eaten well. I have ALWAYS lived on carbs. Pasta, pizza, breads, Cereal. I eat VERY little fruit and the only vegetable I like is corn. I guess that is how I got to this point. My question is, will I be able to be successful? I WANT/NEED this so bad. I will do my best, but I am so afraid I'm going to fail. Was anyone else as bad an eater as me and was able to change and be successful????? Sent from my SM-G930T using the BariatricPal App
