  1. Hello, I'm in the process of scheduling my sleeve surgery and am wondering if anyone else with a lower BMI has had it done or is going to have it done?
  2. I had my sleeve done Sept 21st - so I'm 5 days post op. I weighed myself today and I am 5lbs heavier than I was when I went into surgery... is this normal? What is causing it? - I'm assuming fluids and gas maybe? When do the numbers start to drop?
  3. It looks like I am going to book my surgery today, for Septmeber 21st. Super scared and still wondering at times if I should really be doing it... but I know i'll be a lot happier - and healthier. Anyone gone to Tijuana to Dr.Cabrera or Dr. Guiterrez at Mexico Bariatric Center? Looking for any and all reviews!
  4. @ that's fantastic to hear that your health issues are improving and that you are seeing results! Your scary experiences definitely don't sound fun... I wonder if those are common? Did you find you were miserable the first/second week with feelings of hunger or not being able to eat solid foods?
  5. @krakow57 Thank you so much for your message. That is awesome you are down 60lbs, 5 months post op! Good for you! Have your health issues improved? I would love to hear anything about your journey if you would be willing to share! Very interested in knowing how this go especially within the first few weeks post op @@corr1970 so happy to hear your success story! Good for you!! Any info you have to share would be greatly appreciated as well! @@Pinkberry2 as it was said earlier, everyone has their own story and it's definitely not fair to generalize or judge - you had the surgery as well for your own reasons... Also, that's awesome that you were running track at 200lbs!, I play softball on a national team and go to the gym 5 days/week... it still doesn't mean I don't have health and weight issues or body image issues. Hopefully you can try to appreciate and respect others decisions to do what's best for them. All the best to you!
  6. Good luck tomorrow hats123! Can't wait to hear about it!
  7. Frozengrapes - your surgery is coming up soon! When do you start your pre-op diet? Please keep me posted on your journey!
  8. Thank you SoCalGal77. I would really hope that no one would get nasty about his post. I would hope that people choose to have this surgery to better their health and improve the way they feel - which includes their confidence level. I am currently 50-60lbs over weight (I'm only 5'3) - that is considered obese. Does someone that weighs 350lbs look at someone who weighs 250lbs and would kill to be their weight?.... This is also not my heaviest weight as I have struggled for years going up and down, diet to diet with no success - all the while feeling incredibly insecure and unhappy. I want to become healthy again and feel confident and happy with myself. I definitely have many more questions to be answered about the surgery - which will now include the bougie size. Thank you for the information and for sharing your story!
