  1. @@SleeveG You will still gain some strength at first with Stronglifts, but you'll hit a hard plateau where you just won't be able to gain any more, simply because you lack the calorie input to add more muscle. But the routine will help you maintain muscle mass, so I wouldn't worry about busting through any strength barriers when you hit them.

If you end up wanting to switch to more of a bodybuilding-oriented regimen once you've hit goal weight, then you'll start wanting to do isolation lifts with high reps, or a progressive overload style like you'd find in Body For Life, where your goal is to completely exhaust the muscle and encourage growth. But if your foundation comes from strength training, you're going to have even better results with that, most likely. In the end, it'll be a trial and error process to see what works best for you, and what gets you the results you want. But for right now, a program emphasizing overall strength with compound lifts is, in my opinion, the best way to maintain as much muscle as you can, to help with your fat loss goals. It's just too hard to get the calories and Protein necessary to create hypertrophy in your muscles and cause them to grow a bunch, before you're close to goal.

Thanks Man this was Great feedback Much Appreciated

  2. That's a pretty exhaustive strength routine, but for hypertrophy you want to have higher reps, lower weight...or some kind of progressive overload strategy. Looks like your sets are all the same weight. Personally, I like strength training first and size second. If you have a good strength foundation, you can easily achieve size. For beginners, I'm a fan of the 5x5 programs like Stronglifts or Starting Strength, personally. I don't do a lot of isolation exercises, except for biceps curls...but I'm more interested in strength than size now.

I started stronglift last week I am currently on week 2 but am worried if that's right for us during rapid weight loss? Should we be more focused on cutting weight with more high rep workouts than strength to address the skin issue

Should I be looking to add a Strength program or more of a shred program. I have always been about Strength over just looking shredded but 2 months out I was wondering which might help me in preventing loose skin.

Ok, so I will start sharing in here too. 6 months down the road post op, lost over 70 pounds, and I hit the gym 5-6 times per week, still more cardio than weight lifting. I do 15 minutes of elliptical as warm up, 30-40 minutes weights and work different muscle groups every day. I don't work on my legs as I run a 5k to finish my session. I start to see nice results in the back, arms and pectoral. Shoulders needs more work. I don't do as many abs as I should, but that is not my focus for now. I eat about 130 grams of Proteins per day when I work out and use C4 as pre workout. My training is in the morning (usually 6h45 to 8h15). I try to sleep at least 6h per night, but barely make it and it is a problem for me.

    Mico.

Any physically active job like yours needs at least 4 weeks. I took 4 but recommend 5 or 6

  7. I did a powder vitimin you mix in Water, twice a day. I really had no issue swallowing pills so after two weeks the nut said go ahead and take the oil form. I went on line googled mutlivitiam patch, if you decide to go that way, use biariaticpal a coupon. Any on line sight you buy from google their name and coupon, 90% of the time I find a discount coupon. I like the Patches, but have had problems with them coming off, so I switch to shoulder from butt. Now I have issues with daily activites, I like my hot tub and showing after a work out or any sweaty activity, but the Patches can't get wet, and need to be on around 12 hours, not convenient for me

What kind is the oil form?

  8. I has surgery at Hackensack Hospital NJ, the team I had is very high rated with over 20 years experience but their post op diet is pretty strict compared to most I see on here. Phase 1 is 2 weeks Clear Liquids NO supplementation Phase 2 is 2 weeks mushy and pureed foods and start Multivitamins and 70 grams of n Protein. Phase 3 is 2 weeks of soft solids.

  9. I was also on diluted and ali given a script for percocet. I was not given a stool softener script but taking OTC coach stool softener on my own . I have not yet gone number 2 as of yet. I guess percocet does help but it is all just so tender and sore and honestly I am not walking as much as I should.
