Silly fear - Scared of NEEDLES (anyone?)
I HATE needles!!!! I lucked out and can't recall many blood draws in the hospital. Maybe two. BUT I did have to have two shots a day in the thigh for fifteen days to keep from getting blood clots. I've noticed in past threads that some people had to have them and others didn't. Depended on the surgeon and the patient. But even with my hatred for needles and being a big sissy, if I had it to do over again I'd still go through with it! Best decision I've ever made.

Apple Watch or Fitbit
I've been using the Apple Watch for about a week now. It's okay as a fitness tracker but I like the multifunction of it. Being able to track and get reminders for my pills and vitamins, as well as calendar reminders and text messages. But the Fitbit did a stellar job as a fitness tracker. I'll be sticking with my Apple Watch for a while, it's taking care of my needs quite nicely.

Question for diabetics
I'm type 2 and kept some Gatorade in the fridge just for that. I had my sugar dip a few times and just had a small amount. Brought me right out of it.

What do you tell ppl at work?
I'm an open book, there were many conversations at work about what I was going through. Ended up being a large support group for me. Made it easy when group meals came up as they were all trying to find places that I could get something too.

Asking God for direction
This is tough and I understand feeling conflicted. Sometimes it's hard to really tell when God is trying to give you signs. I think he has a plan for you, and whichever way you go with the surgery will be within his plan. I don't think you have control over that, if its in the card or not it has already been planned. The best I can suggest is to keep praying about it. I think the fear of death on the operating table is completely normal. I have a feeling you will get over the illness shortly and be right back on track after this slight hiccup. Not sure I was much help, but I am praying for you!

What's for dinner?
Been all over Pinterest, not much that I'd like or realistically want to make. Just wanting to see what things others are having. Gives me ideas that I can put together in my own way.

Keep your head in the game! Don't let small bumps get in your way. I know it's frustrating, but you are right there. It'll get done and you'll be sooo much better for sticking through it.

I was told by my doctor to crush my Prilosec, I even questioned it being an extended release tablet. He reiterated to crush it. Definitely check with your doctor.

I'll have a black and blue Christmas
Don't doubt your decision. For me it was the best thing I've ever done. The first few days post op were a little rough but each day was better than the last. I only took pain meds for a few days after surgery. Then I was good to go without. Only had minor pain with some movements. It's an excellent Christmas present for yourself! Complete life changer, just stick to your surgeons plan and you'll do great.

New kid on the block here.
Best decision I've ever made!!! I am so much healthier now! Sleep apnea is much better, blood pressure normal, blood sugar normal, cholesterol normal. I was taking six pills every morning and two more at night. No more pills for me!!! It's an amazing journey and we all have our own reasons for taking it. It's not always easy. I applaud you for taking control of your health!

Happy to report my blood tests came back with excellent results. The only level that was a little low was vitamin D. But I do live in Seattle, everyone's vitamin D is low here.
