  1. Excellent way to keep moving forward. You've already started your journey! Don't focus on the approval. The surgery is just one part of a bigger process. Keep working on you and stay diligent with your insurance and appointments. It'll happen.
  2. Awesome! I'm starting with a goal of jogging a 5k this summer.
  3. I've been taking Flintstones, my nutritionist isn't thrilled about them. Last night I ordered the patches from the forum store. We'll see what my labs look like in a few weeks.
  4. If I wanted to sleep in my own bed I had to go up the stairs. It was uncomfortable and took some time but I made it up and down since the day after surgery. Now I'm 10 weeks post op and can run them
  5. Don't be nervous. In mine he just asked me some questions about the surgery and why I wanted it. Then he asked a few questions about the research I'd done. He asked my about my home life and childhood. Then he gave me a long list of true or false questions. Some of them seemed really silly to me... #20 I am seldom troubled by constipation. (Trick question, I rarely have constipation but when I do it always troubles me) #24 Evil spirits possess me at times. #29 At times I feel like swearing. (Hell yeah I do) #73 Sometimes my soul leaves my body. (But it always comes back, sometimes with ice cream) #124 I was recently on the cover of several magazines. #336 Someone has control of my mind. Just a few that tickled my funny bone. (No offense to anyone who answered yes to those questions).
  6. Don't be nervous. Just be honest, it's part of a wholistic treatment. They'll ask why you want the surgery, what research you've done, and a few questions like that. Then I had a long test to fill out that just measured how "nuts" I was. Lol!!! No really it had a bunch of true or false questions like.... #20 I am seldom troubled by constipation. 7. I stayed overnight. Had my surgery in the morning and was up and walking the same day. Next day they cut me loose around noon. I didn't want to be in the hospital a minute more than I had to.
  8. I've experienced the same feeling of the food going into my stomach. It takes very little food to fill me up. If you're uncomfortable or concerned ring up your doctor. Better to be confident and moving forward than to spend your time worrying if something is wrong.
  9. Happy it's going smooth for you so far! Congrats on getting your surgery!

  11. Everywhere! Most notably my gut, which is where I carried most of my weight anyway.
  12. It's awesome to see friends and family be supportive of your journey!! Speedy recovery to you!!!
  13. I signed up at the YMCA about a month ago and have been going quite often. I was very open up front about what I wanted to gain from being there and what I had been through. They set me up on fitpath, I then emailed that workout to the surgeons office and they okayd it. So as long as the trainer is open to work with you and your "team" on the process I'd think you could get the okay for each routine in advance. I found that they didn't have much knowledge of my surgery but listened to my concerns and are wanting/willing to help me reach my goal in any way they can.
  14. While I don't have much advise in this category for you, I will say communication is very important. I wish the best for both of you in your relationship!
  15. I have sleep apnea, couldn't get used to a c-pap machine so they put me on a bi-pap. Much better! As for surgery, my surgeon didn't require another sleep study from me since I was already diagnosed and had the machine. No problems with anesthesia. I brought my machine with me to the hospital and when I made it into my own room my wife set it up for me. I've been using it ever since. However now that I have lost some tonnage I am not sleeping as well. Saw the sleep doctor and he had me fit for a new mask. Still not sleeping well, not they are changing my prescription and setting my machine to auto bi-pap because they think my pressure may be too high now. while that sucks that I've been getting bad sleep, it's pretty cool that things are getting better.
  16. Wow! Good work! I'm right on track to be there with you. Down 91 pounds and had surgery on September 2nd.
  17. It's normal to be nervous, it'll be all done soon and you'll be on track to a better you. I don't regret my decision one bit.
  18. That is just awesome!!
