    FMLA after surgery

So I had RNY 11-29-2016. I know its been a while but I'm still going through the dumping often caused by things that I can eat just fine the day before. My dumping is very hit or miss and often im really unsure of what is causing it as I eat the same things. One week I can eat tuna for 4 days straight with no issues and sometimes I eat a few bites and I dump for hours. Long story short this has caused me to miss time at work as I work the front desk at a busy medical office. unfortunately my employer is now threatening my job even though I have not used any leave without pay. I always use my sick time. But now they say that I have to have a doctor's note everytime I call out. So I asked for FMLA papers to protect my job. Has anyone else had to use FMLA or dealt with this.

Well everyone today is 3 weeks since RNY...and I'm only down 11 lbs since surgery...27 altogether. So not horrible but I'm definitely losing way slow!! It's kind of a bummer some days...how is everyone else doing lately? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling kinda down

I'm getting between 50-60 oz of Water and meeting my Protein goal. I came back to work as a medical assistant a week after surgery so I'm always moving. I just feel like my body is just not willing to let it go lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling kinda down

Bypass Surgery was 11/29 lost 16 lbs on the liver shrinking diet. I was 286 the morning of surgery and now I'm 2 weeks out and barely down to 276. A co worker had the sleeve done on 12/6 and is down 34 lbs total. Don't get me wrong I'm extremely excited for her but it makes me kinda sad that I'm not losing like she is. I just broke my almost 5 day stall this morning. I feel like this weight is just never going to go anywhere Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Help! I ate real food!

It's weird I'm 1 week post op and I feel full when I eat but nothing has bothered my pouch...had potatoes and cheese at 4 days and a chicharone and had Beans and guacamole and sour cream tonight for dinner. I've had no nausea or pain. I kinda feel like something is wrong because I'm not having any issues I see everyone complaining about. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well hello all! I survived!! Surgery was on 11/29 and I'm 4 days post op! I woke up this morning feeling about 80%! Still have a drain tube and walking pretty slow but I can lay down and on my sides. And my back pain finally went away! Can't wait for Tuesday I get to have oatmeal and mashed potatoes! No I got added to my husbands insurance so with a secondary insurance I won't have to pay anything out of pocket before surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Yes he has Aetna as well and I think we are going to add me to his insurance. Aetna considers bariatric surgery medically necessary. Yes st Joseph is the ones who are saying I have to pay the 6850 before surgery. That is my out of pocket max with Kaiser. So hopefully they will be able to run the 6850 through the secondary insurance and the max out of pocket for that one is 3,000 that they would bill me for Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well sad update guys...gotta put a hold on surgery. I found out after my consultation that I have to pay $6,850 before they do the surgery...I unfortunately don't have stacks of money laying around so hopefully with taxes. We are also looking into adding me to my husbands insurance since they cover the surgery as well. But for now it's a no go...very emotionally draining day. Yes I've heard good things about her too! Yes that's about the time frame jenelle our nutritionist has given us. I won't know what surgeon I have until they call for the consultation. They have said that Dr. Bolanowski sends all her patients home with a drain tube...and I'm not too fond of that idea so I'm hoping for the other surgeon lol. But I'll just be glad to get a surgery date!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The classes I feel are too long for what little they teach you. We have more of a group discussion than anything. I have been doing a Protein shake in the morning and trying to make it to lunch before I eat again to kinda prepare for the pre op diet. I've lost 8 lbs so it's going good I guess Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dymeond I felt the same way about Terry. I was told it could take 4 months for surgery as well but at the first options class they said surgery is typically 6 weeks after the last class. My last class is October 6th so it should be around the middle to end of November! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
