  1. I'd give it up now or it'll be harder after surgery when you're still on liquids and can't have it. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using the BariatricPal App

    only a few bites, norm?

I'm 4.5 weeks out. I'm so full and can barely get 4 tbsp (2oz) down each meal. I should be at around 6-8 tbsp (3 to 4 oz) each meal. I'm not reaching my calorie goals at all. I'm close to 300-400 a day. I'm not reaching my Protein intake either. I'm half way through the soft food phase and move to general diet in 1 week. I can't stand my shakes after surgery. I do drink protein2o (15g protein) and atkins lift (20g protein) but even tho they taste good, I've always been a sipper when it came to flavored drinks and a huge ice Water drinker. Discomfort After Surgery

Being nervous is normal. They put a nausea patch behind my ear before surgery and gave me a script for home. I had bad nausea for several days before due to nerves so the day of, I spent awhile in recovery cause it felt better to keep my eyes closed. It did go away but I do think it was all nerves for me. I used the pill at home for maybe 2 days just cause I was trying to prevent it. My biggest pain was the bigger incision where the stomach comes out from. When getting up from bed or changing position, apply pressure with a blanket or pillow to your stomach, it helps lessen the pain. I also used ice packs on my stomach. Ask for a heating pad after surgery and apply it to your shoulders or upper back, this helps the gas pains after anesthesia. I was sleeved 12/27/16 It's been an adventure but I don't regret doing it. It's worth it. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N910R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Pureed food stage

I've been eating mashed potatoes, pureed carrots, and cottage cheese. Drinking Protein shakes and protein2o also. I'm not adventurous with food textures. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Taking pills, how far apart?

I was told take 1 pill at a time. Swallow 1, take next, repeat. Just not all at once so they don't get stuck. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Pain on right side

Stomach was removed from right side. I have the right side pain. The incision they pulled the stomach through should be bigger than the others, that's how you'll know. I was told the pain on the right side could last several weeks post op as everything is healing in there. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using the BariatricPal App
  13. I was literally in tears the 2nd night I came home. I felt like I made a mistake too. Don't give up on yourself. I'm only 3 days ahead of you (sleeved 12/27) but it's getting easier! We got this Sent from my SM-N910R4 using the BariatricPal App
  14. Today I'm 1 week post op! It was hard the first few days and discouraging but I'm finally keeping fluids down and getting better at reaching my Fluid intake. I'm starting pureed foods tomorrow! Can I say how excited I am to have cottage cheese and mashed potatoes!!! Hoping diet tolerates and I can continue to progress but my whole mind set is much better. I picked up some protein2o and it helped so much with giving me nutrition since I was only taking in sugar free Jello and Water. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using the BariatricPal App
