    What are the next steps

Each program is different. I received a huge informational book and a form indicating all the steps and time line. Unfortunately, no 2 programs are alike, especially when you factor in health insurance requirements.
  3. Good luck to you. Your new life begins in less than 18 hours. Relax and meditate a little tonight, this is where you wanted to be. Keep in touch.

    Why no preop diet?

Some readings state it is not necessary. But, my doctor prefers to do 14 day liquid. He states not only to shrink liver to allow easier maneuvers of organs, but also assist in reduction of gi upset since no solid food in stomach. But again, this is all personal/ professional opionion of surgeon. many people have had successful post op with no preop diet.
  5. Protein promotes healing and increased energy levels. Please refer to your team regarding the amount of protein you need. Dehydration is bad, but malnutrition is just as bad. My NUT recommended unflavored protein in broth, pudding, etc. I haven't had surgery, but I have worked in medical field for 24 years; so this recommendation is more from experience in basic Healthcare. Good luck to you.

What mobile apps do you use?

I use my Blaze FitBit app for every thing- tracking activity, water, food intake, sleep, total calories in, calories burned, etc. Good luck!
  8. I have UH in georgia. @@sammy246 is correct. Uh also required a 6 month supervised weight program, with monthly nutrition appointments, psych evaluation, and Fitness evaluation. Mine did not indicate any required weight loss, but they do want to see you are losing weight and making an effort. Call your insurance company and ask if your plan covers bariatric procedures. Good luck to you!

  10. Curious. .... is abdominal binder or corsets recommended post op? I have read different sites in which is recommended and on others, there are no mentioning. Some say it will help relieve abdominal pressures and discomfort. Just wondering. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
  11. I don't have advice, but I do pray that you are able to get the support and answers you need. Just know that you didn't come this far to let a few bad moments sabotage the rest of your life. I truly respect and understand that your emotions and background is totally different than mine, but what I have found helpful is writing in my diary. I list all my challenges and my goals. Then I write a letter to my "selves" ... the good side and the bad side. For me, it helps to put my thoughts on paper. This is something simple that may not work for everyone. You will still have to find a way to get back on track. I know with family gatherings, it's hard. We took vacation to beach, I pack foods specifically for me so I wouldn't feel deprived. Again, keep faith you yourself. Know that we all fail a time or two. Reach out to your support team and therapist, and develop a plan that will work for you. Many blessings! I purposefully planned it that way. ) Keep us posted. Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App
