  1. Pity party for one please. Some nights I just want to cry. I cannot wait for my body to be good. I'm over this sciatica pain, hip pain, foot pain and toe arthritis. It's so frustrating knowing I have so much to go on my journey but I know in the end the wait will be worth it. I just hate being in pain. Rant over. Carry on. Call the waaaambulance!

That's the one thing I'm worried about the most. My mommy had to have surgeries on her knees around her mid/late 40's. She's always been a big girl, but she's been consistently doing Water aerobics every single day for the last 8/9 years. She still has to use a walker or a cane, and she's only in her 60's. So, I want to get this weight thing under control now. I love my mom but I don't want to "walk a mile in her shoes". Also I feel better this morning .
  3. Tell them you got the procedure scheduled between the time they interviewed you and when they called you and that you didn't mention it because you were going to try to get the procedure moved but they couldn't accommodate you. 4. From what I read Kaiser doesn't cover revisions. BUT I also know that every Kaiser is different and every situation is different. It sounds like you had an entirely different procedure . I don't know if I would even mention WLS to the doctor but I guess you kind of have to to figure out what really happened. I'm so sorry you're going thru all this. I am with Kaiser OC & I see a doctor in Santa Ana. Only seen her once and I'm pre-op right now, so I don't have much advice. Let me know if you want her info. 5. Could you transfer to Kaiser OC or Inland Empire if you do end up having to take the options classes at least they are only 12 weeks vs. 24. Just a thought. Hang in there I know this is all very frustrating but it will be worth it in the end. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I have Kaiser SoCal too. More specifically Kaiser Orange County. I'd be interested in finding out too lol. I actually wouldn't mind taking the classes but I really would love to get the ball rolling so I could take time off at the same time as my kids during winter break. For Kaiser OC our classes are only 12 weeks. My options classes start in September and probably would end around November/December. I have so many questions myself. Like I don't have any MSWL programs and do I need to get started on one? And can I do all my required tests during the 12 week period? Yea so I'll have to wait for my orientation to ask all this crap. This is a dumb question but have you tried searching kp.org for this info? Or maybe calling them to find out how to challenge taking the courses? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I love Greys! I met Sandra Oh (she was walking thru a mall) and I nearly cried! Lol. Netflix is great. I also love audiobooks. There are tons of free audiobooks on YouTube. You can also watch WLS success videos on YouTube. Lots of different videos to watch. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. this is one of the big reasons I stopped using the forums on my fitness pal. To many people who were already skinny going on and on about how fat they are and how they need to loose weight when they were already well below my goal weight. I saw so many people posting their "before" pictures that showed slim people with flat tummies talking about how they needed to loose so much weight, it really made me feel badWhat you said is the reason I don't want to tell some people at work about getting WLS. Like when they are 130lbs 5'6" and are trying to talk to me about how fat they are....it's really kind of effed up if I let it get to me. Like are they trying to tell me I disgust them? Lol. I don't let it get to me bc I could care less, but I could see a more sensitive person getting offended. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Maybe the mayo too. Think about this as if you're feeding a baby. The first few weeks of baby food is usually one ingredient simple veggies and fruits. I imagine your tummy is fairly sensitive at this point, like a baby's tummy. I'm sure you know but Gatorade has a lot of sugar (14g/8oz for regular & 7g/8oz for G2). I think some doctors allow it tho bc of the potassium. Maybe instead of the Gatorade try electrolyte water with your crystal light? Idk just a thought. Sometimes when you're trying to figure something out it helps to get a fresh set of eyes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. You're losing weight and that's all that matters! Also you made the decision to have the surgery for you, no one else's opinion matters but yours. And so what if you think you made a mistake? You can't undo it so just set it aside and move on. Plus I've heard regret is normal at this stage. Good for you on your weight loss! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Nice! Do you ever think, by this time next year I can wear shorts from a normal size? LOL that's been my thoughts lately. I have two pairs of shorts and I have underbelly and muffin top in one pair but damn it, I will squeeze my ass into them if that's the last thing I'll do! Haha. I love summer time but I hate having to shop for summer clothes.

    Kaiser

Congrats! I wish all Kaisers had the same process! Haha. My orientation isn't until next week on the 11th. Options classes start in September, but ours in So. Cal. are 12 weeks long. I don't know for sure but I think I might have to do a diet plan thru WW since I don't have any MSWL on record. I emailed the RN and she said they would be happy to answer any questions at the orientation lol, so I got no answers but it's okay cause I can wait a week. I wonder how fast you'll get your surgery date after the classes? Do you have to do a MSWL program? And do you have a required sleep study? JW Lol. I'm rambling, CONGRATS!

    Need A Buddy Please!

I haven't had surgery and my starting weight is lower, but I wanted to give you some words of encouragement. You did something wonderful for your life! This is your life to live. People are always going to have something negative to say. Let them talk. Let them say what they want. I'm sure you're doing great and probably better if you had a better support system. Don't give up! I don't know if you have heard of Joel Osteen but he has a radio station on Sirius and I started listening to him. There is a message he's constantly reiterating that I'd like to share with you: shake off the negativity, shake off the self doubt, this is your time to shine! Congratulations on your decision to save your life . Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Kaiser

I'm with Kaiser as well. I saw my PCP on 7/29. She put in my referral for the department of health education. They called me that same day and scheduled me for orientation on 8/11. From what I understand, I fill out paperwork that day and then I can start the options classes. She said the options classes are 12 weeks long (1/week). My doctor did say to make sure I do everything they ask of me to make it easier for the insurance to approve me. I was told from another member her process took about 5 months. I also was told by someone else their process took 9 months and she had to do a medically supervised diet (she chose weight watchers) bc the insurance required her to. I don't know what all will be required of me (Kaiser Orange County, CA) but I will post updates when I know more. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
