  1. This sounds exactly like me. I am 3 weeks out and do not want anything ever! I am struggling. Really scared of getting dehydrated. I am basically having multiple popsicles a day and I know this isn't good for me. But I feel like I absolutely cannot eat or drink. Praying this won't last. 2. Like you I also am picky and I am allergic to all seafoods with iodine. I am 3 weeks post op and struggling. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Later on when I can advance to regular foods would it be a horribly bad food choice to add a little bit of scrambled sausage into my scrambled egg? I am not fond of eggs but can tolerate them if there is a lil sausage in them. However I don't want to eat anything that I shouldn't eat. I am only 18 days post-op and I intend to follow my program. Thanks for your thoughts. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. On day 7 I was advanced to the pureed foods, then on day 14 I will advance to soft foods.
  5. I got my answer today. When I asked my dr, I was told that during surgery our legs are put up into high stirrups, and the camera person actually stands between our legs (we are well covered). Said it's common for our hip ligaments to be stretched for a little while afterwards. So glad to know that I wasn't imagining this pain. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. @@Treadmillwalker, no that's not it al all. I have been having normal BM's... This is basically cheek pain from sitting.
  7. I am only 5 days post op (and have lost 8 lbs) since being discharged from the hospital, it doesn't matter if I sit in my recliner or on the bed I notice that my butt cheeks hurt. I now it sounds funny but its real pain. Please someone tell me that I am not imagining this. I cannot get comfortable. What has caused this? Any suggestions on relief? Thanks in advance.
  8. My surgeon recommends two Flintstone brand vitamins a day. I know others disagree with this, but I am going to take them until I get my first set of labs at 6 weeks and again at 12 weeks to see how my stats are.
  9. I took my heating pad, and it was a life saver as I had gas pain in my back. Also I took Baby Lips for my dry lips, that helped. I even took a small fan with me in case if I needed it, however I never used it. The hospital furnished a small 7" fan that clipped on to the bed rail for me as my room was a tad warm. I too brought my robe, house shoes too, they were not needed as each patient I saw walking was wearing the socks the hospital gives you and a second gown to wear as a robe. Best of luck.
  10. Don't forget you probably gained 8-10lbs due to you IV fluids. It will take a few days for it to go away.
  11. For me it was 3 days after surgery, and every day since. Thankfully I haven't had to take anything, and my stools have been normal. Not sure why because I sure haven't had anything to eat in over a week. But my doctor told me to take Metamucil if it was needed.
  12. I just had my bypass surgery on 11/8 -- today is 11/11 and I am noticing whenever I try to drink my Protein shake that my nose starts running. I have read this and hiccups were common warning signs that your pouch was full, But I didn't think it would be this bad. How long does this normally last? Thanks,
  13. @@sjohn185 I had my bypass the same day that you did. I haven't had any hunger issues yet. I hope that it doesn't happen too soon. I can't drink too much at one time so I am basically just sipping.
  14. @@BariatricGal thanks, I am super excited and I know that you're going to do well too. We got this!!!!!
  15. I am ready for my 11/8 surgery! I am counting down the days.
  16. I sure did! I cast my ballot this week! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. After having my bypass surgery postponed twice, it's finally going to happen on ELECTION DAY Nov. 8, 2016! The USA may be getting a new president that day, but I am getting a new lease on life and I am so thankful. Today is day 9 on my liver shrink diet and so far, I've done well. I am pleased with the weight that I've lost so far these past few days. It's been a long road since June with numerous blood tests, x-rays, ct scans, pet scans, and biopsies, to get me well today and I thank the Lord for this. I intend to do all that I can to be as successful as I can possibly be. I just wanted to share my happy news with you, and thank you all for your encouragement to not give up! ~Debi~
  19. On mine, it was just dates of my visits and what my weight was each visit. That was it. And with BC I wasn't required to lose weight, I was just to be under a doctors supervision. I did loose a little but not a lot. But any weight loss is a bonus.
  20. I'm on day 8 myself, and to be honest days 1 and 2 were the hardest. Since then I've been surprised at how well I have done. Wishing you the best!
  21. So my surgery was postponed to 11/8, and I am super excited about it. Is anyone else using St. Francis for their surgery?
  22. I have used the Great Value brand of sugar free Almond milk from Walmart in mine and loved it.
  23. Walmart sells them online. Check for Medline brands.
  24. @@lambypie Hi and welcome to the forum. We've all been exactly where you are now at one point. I am now on my liver shrink diet and my surgery is on Election Day 11/8 ! Please know that your co-ordinator should be the one person that you feel extremely comfortable going to as it's her job to act as your advocate to help you get approved. She wants you to be approved as your surgery is income and job security for them. Don't worry too much about what your doctor will write, he is just basically letting your surgeon know that he is giving you clearance for surgery health wise. It's up to your surgeon to submit the test results to BC for them to approve you. You're going to do fine and I wish you the very best. Don't give up!
  25. That's wonderful news Tiffany, I am still behind you on the 8th. Almost on the losers bench! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
