  1. Hang in there, and try to be patient as hard as it is. We have to give it time. Wishing you the best of luck.
  2. I am having surgery in two weeks and was curious to know if we were able to eat any foods cooked in an air fryer. I know that with this RNY I will be unable to eat anything fried, but wondered if there was a major difference in the way food was cooked in this since it uses 99% less oil. Thanks so much for your help.

    November RNY surgery buddies

I am down 60 lbs, but that includes my pre-op liquid diet. My weight loss has been really slow in my opinion. Although I am not exercising like I should be. I don't get enough water in either. Seems like each day is a struggle to make healthy food choices.

Can we drink out of straws?

Its strange how some of us were actually given straws in the hospital to drink our water with and others were not. For me, I know better than to slurp my water out of a straw. However I do find that I can drink more water than just by sipping it from a glass. My NUT said it was ok to use a straw, and if I had gas to stop and wait a few months before trying it. I have never had any gas so I use a straw daily. Keep in mind everyone is different. We have to do what works best for us.
  6. I take the Walgreens multivitamin its small like a plain M&M, D3, Biotin, and Calcitrate.

    Daily carb goal?

Mine is the same as yours and also 30gms fat per day. My weight loss has been very slow and I am curious if the carbs may have something to do with it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Return to work

Strangely I didn't seem to be as tired as some were. Maybe it's because I received a B12 shot during my hospital stay, but really I don't know. It sure helped me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. Our stats were very similar, like you also considered the sleeve, and my dr explained how much better the RNY bypass would be for me. I trusted him and had the bypass 7 weeks ago, and am very thankful I did. On my first visit I asked him what the mortality rates were for this surgery, he said "your risks of dying are higher with a hysterectomy than a bypass". I also had some well meaning friends who claimed to "know" someone who had died, funny they couldn't give me a name for me to verify it. So my point is sometimes friends mean well, but don't really want you to have surgery and sometimes they are just simply jealous. I wish you the very best of luck with whatever you decide. No where else to vent

@@reree6898 Your husband did this in the most cowardly way possible. Please don't blame yourself. You can be so proud of yourself for your weight loss, and for doing this to get healthier for your family. I'm glad that you feel confident enough in us to share your vents here. We care and are here to listen anytime that you need to talk. I hope that you have had a very Merry Christmas today.

    Dry skin!

I have noticed not the dry skin. But rather the cracked heels of my feet. I researched causes for this online and it stated being dehydrated. I think I am just not hydrated enough and have made a vow to work harder on getting more fluids in to help avoid this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Diet Coke

Christine I think you know the answer in your heart. I would love to have one too but there is no way I am going to jeopardize all that I have worked so hard for. I hope that you will speak with your Dr about this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Does anyone have any suggestions for me with my problem? I am 4 weeks post-op and am able to eat all of the foods that I am allowed to have. However, it hurts my pouch whenever Water or almost any liquid hits it. I have tried plain water, crystal light, warm decaf tea, etc... and the only liquid I have tolerated well is skim milk. Am I the only one experiencing this? I am really struggling to get my liquids in. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. Later on when I can advance to regular foods would it be a horribly bad food choice to add a little bit of scrambled sausage into my scrambled egg? I am not fond of eggs but can tolerate them if there is a lil sausage in them. However I don't want to eat anything that I shouldn't eat. I am only 18 days post-op and I intend to follow my program. Thanks for your thoughts. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
