I bought some Powerade and that seem to have done the trick!! I'm so thirsty it's the only thing I can get down me. Will have to do for a few days until this all sorts out. I've had the worse day today. I stopped counting after dry heaving 6 times today. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Vomiting/Dry heaving
So since week 5 post op I have been vomiting. Mostly dry heaving but also vomiting bile. This does not happen when I eat or drink. It's so random. Today I dry heaved on 3 separate occasions which has been the worst so far. My surgeon seems to think I have a problem with my diaphragm so he's asked my GP to prescribe me some tablets to hopefully help. I don't get nauseous all of a sudden I just get this feeling and I have to go to the toilet immediately. I have an extremely sore throats all the time but no heartburn. This started happening after I was taken off my gas tablets. Anyone experienced this? It's to tiring and scary at the same time because it happens when I drive and I have to pull over immediately. Antidepressants post op?
I'm on Citalopram and my God has my depression been worse since surgery. I'm assuming this is because of all the hormone changes. I'll be post op 6 weeks tomorrow and almost 50lbs lost. 2lbs to go. See my doctor on Friday to try to help with that and sleep. My sleeping is terrible!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Do you miss food?
Why are you crying everyday? You're feeling bad from your pre-op diet? Do you have a therapist associated with your bariatric practice? You should NOT be this distraught heading into your surgery. You really need to talk with someone who can help you put your fears and concerns into perspective. A week before my surgery I was nervous, but it was that good, "I can't wait!" kind of nervous, like before your wedding or when you do a pregnancy test and you WANT to be pregnant...you shouldn't be crying and dreading it. It may be that the time isn't right in your life for something of this magnitude. I'm 5 weeks post op and have had the worst post op care. My NUT has actually stopped emailing me when I have questions and I don't actually have a follow up with my surgeon until next week. I've had no Vitamins as my paper stated I shouldn't take them until week 6. I use this forum a lot to help me through but I'm not getting the medical support I need.

Do you miss food?
I should reiterate. I miss the thought of food but eating it makes me want to hurl. I hate eating and drinking at this point. The only thing I want to eat are babybels.

New here, constant nausea
I started only experiencing nausea at the soft foods phase. I started soft foods on Tuesday and yesterday was the first time I didn't have nausea with foods. Drinking Water on the other hand is whole different story. I was doing well getting my water in but I just CANNOT for the life of me get my water in this week. I'm really worried about it but trying to do the best I can. I hope you feel better soon. It's a slow process but we will get there. Big hugs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Swelling
Hi Guys Me again sorry. I haven't had much guidance from my surgeon or NUT since being sleeved on 4th Oct and my first appt is not til 16th Nov. I will be 4 weeks post op tomorrow and moving on to soft foods I can't wait!! My question is when does the swelling go down. I guess I should try to call the outpatients number to see how this works but wanted to know from you guys? I find it hard bending down on my left side and even trying to do my toe nails is very difficult. I've searched on the forum but nothing really comes up for this. Thanks in advance. Quick - Help!
Guys I have a huge problem. My team wants to go out to lunch today and of course they want to go to the dreaded Chinese. I'm still on the puréed stage until tomorrow and can't see anything on the menu to eat. The Soups are full of bits and probably loads of MSG. Would it be rude if I don't eat? I want to pull out of the lunch but it's my team that I manage. Soooo not ready for this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
