I had originally made the decision to get the gastric sleeve when I was 21 years old and in college. At that time, I was very self-conscious about my weight. Being in college and being surrounded by people who were my age and were at least 100 pounds lighter than me made me feel embarrassed that I had let myself go. I had reached a point in my life where I was tired of being the biggest person in the room. I don't like having to avoid having fun because of my size and I certainly don't like feeling like I'm 40 when I'm only 25. I've missed out on way too many things in my life because I let my weight get the best of me. Are you there God? It's me, Gigi.

The normal guidelines for WLS is a BMI of 40 or above with no other weight related medical conditions.....or a BMI of 35 or higher with other medical conditions...you mentioned you have sleep apnea which is one of the conditions that would help you qualify for surgery....So yes it sounds like you meet the basic requirements...
However, your best bet is to attend an informational seminar with a bariatric center in your area. The seminar is usually facilitated by bariatric surgeons and will provide you with lots of information that will help you determine if surgery is a good option for you. So in my opinion your first step should be to attend an informational seminar....

Well the fact you have had two surgeries, i highly doubt you would have major weight loss with a 3rd. The shock value of reducing calories is gone, and your metabolism would have adjusted to it.
I know for certain that weight loss is slower 2nd time around, so i would imagine how much slower it would be a 3rd.
Sorry i am not trying to be a negative nelly, but thats just how our bodies work.... its a fact that you lose slower and slower with each revision, and being a lower BMI also works against you.
Perhaps try your pre op diet again? Cut out carbs and sugars and stick to high Protein and see how much you can achieve doing that. Are you exercising?

I lost XXX pounds and I didn't even have to have surgery to do it!!
Every time I see/hear it, I can't roll my eyes hard enough! Why does it matter?? Surgery is not the easy way out! You still have to watch what you eat! I am living proof. I just want to say, "so, good for you and stfu"!

My mom has had the sleeve and I still take her out on Sundays. You don't have to "forget" about going to a restaurant but you definitely need to be mindful of what you eat and to eat slow so that you don't end up being in pain.

Today I was approved for to have the surgery! I've waited 4 years to have this surgery and now it's finally happening! My surgery date is 7/16 and I was wondering if anyone else has a July surgery date? How are you preparing for it?

This sounds like a potential transfer addiction. Be careful if you do go down this path.

Ewwww....a little defensive? Why did you post if you can't accept that other people have a different view than you do? Pot is a drug plain and simple. And if you need it to relax....well, what do you think an addition is?

Hummm....using pot once a week sounds kind of frequent to me. But then I never smoke pot....why would you want to have surgery to help with an eating addiction and then continue another addiction that is going to make you want to eat?
