The average hospital stay is 2 nights however you are required to drink a certain amount of liquid in an hour and if you can't they will not let you go home. I had mine 3 days ago and am still in the hospital because I have not been able to I just feel too full. Sent from my RCT6213W87DK using the BariatricPal App

I just had my gastric bypass on 7/12. The pain was undescribable. My ribs felt like i got in a fight and was kicked with steel toe boots and my entire abdomen hurt. Everytime I breathed in it hurt. I'm 3 days out now and it is much better. I didn't get a lot of pain meds and am currently on plain Tylenol. It is painful but it gets better quicker than you expect.
