the first several pics are from me at my heaviest(255), last july and this july, at my brother in laws wedding in march of this year...the picture where I was in the flowerdy shirt and black skirt was taken in May before my surgery (which was June 30th) and the last 2 pics were me in my wedding dress that I wore in 2008 I apparently am smaller now than I was when I got married :) and the last pic was taken this last sunday...I still have 38 lbs to lose but I am very pleased with my progress thus far....

I had terrible insomnia after surgery as well. I had gastric bypass...from what I've read it's normal due to all the changes going on in your body...my doctor/surgeon reccomended Melatonin(fast dissolve) I was skeptical at first but I tried it and now I take it every night...I sleep for a good 8 hours...I understand what you are going through...give the melatonin a try...let me know how it works for you.. good luck! ???????????? -

I was 235 when I started meeting the doc in april of this year....I lost 20 lbs before the surgery and I've lost 30 since the surgery...I'm anxious to see where I will be by Christmas. . ????????????

Well I lost 20 before surgery..I had my gastric bypass June 30th...so combined the 20 plus the 30 since surgery. I should lose more by my 3 month appt... ????????????

My doctor suggested melatonin...it works!!! It's like 7 dollars and some change at walmart..you should try it!! ???????????? -
So...I have a question...I have not had to use birth control for 6+ years.. I am almost 5 weeks out from LRNY. I was encouraged by my doctor to do the depo shot due to the risks and effects of the others. So my question is...did any of you have the depo shot and did it mess with you loosing weight? I still need to lose 50 more pounds...please give me some insight. Thank you! ????????????

It is very rare to get pregnant on Depo unless they did not get it at the right intervals (or got pregnant before it would be effective). I don't know about impacting weight loss (I don't think it will have a big impact) but have you considered an IUD instead? The thing about Depo is - it's in your system for 90 days whether you have issues or not (you can't stop it or remove it like other forms of bc).My obgyn didn't recommend the IUD because so many women that come see her have had issues...constant spotting, cramping...just something I wouldn't wanna deal with. ????????????
