live2ride got a reaction from FAT TWO FABULOUS in Strange issues after sleeve surgery anyone?
Same sort of thing happened to me around 1 week post op. My doc said it was from the shots/deadening medicine they put in my abdomen wearing off. Plus the tissue that was cut thru was healing. I continued to have significant pain on my right side Cuz it was the largest incision where he removed my tummy. Just take it easy and it should pass!

I am over 4 years out and as most new sleevers are, I was a strict rule follower in the beginning. No diet soda for me. Pre-sleeve I was addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper. I stayed away from all of soda for a year to 18 months. I got super skinny and a little too comfortable and a bit cocky. I could afford to gain some weight. I NEEDED to gain some weight. Well, I gained weight! At my lowest I was 112 and just a couple a months ago I was back up to 150. I am happy to say I am back down to a normal weight of 134 right now. The first thing I did to get things back under control was to cut out the diet soda. It is so much easier to stay away from the carbs without that stuff. I came to a realization that I went through a lot--physically, emotionally, and financially to get my sleeve. I was not going to just let it slip away. I still have about 10 lbs to lose, but I vow to keep soda out of my life forever from now on.

Thank you to those who have shared and congratulations! I know I'll likely end up being a slower loser (i have hashimotos); but seeing these numbers is still highly motivating for me. I've been obese since I was 8. Almost 30 YEARS!!! So I'm fully prepared for however long it takes me to lose this 125lbs.
Nothing wrong with wanting to see what others have experienced, IMO.

#Raw reality. So so soooooo proud of me! 8 days shy for my 10th Month Surgeryversary . From a size 20 to a 12, 40DD to 34C, from a 3X to a Large (fitting big a bit), from 289.7LBS starting weight to 258LBS on my surgery date... 160LBS today. I have tons of excess skin! Since I'm almost at my goal weight I am waiting to hit that 140LBS to start my workout routine so far I got to do 20 crunches to start on my belly and got to do 10 push-ups... I'll be honest... that's the most I EVER go to do it without struggling or hurting. This guys, is amazing to me because I am pushing myself to do what I have to do. I was smiling the whole time while I was doing my crunches . #Bariatric | #WLS | #GastricBypass | #WLSCommunity | #RNYLife | #BariatricBabes | #20MorePoundsToGo | #9MonthsPostOp

I had to share the best thing I have found to wear after surgery. I am down 3 sizes and am broke so I can't afford to buy a ton of clothes. I have been living in these leggings and tunics from Amazon, the leggings are very similar to LuLaRoe but half the price! They will fit all sizes to like a 12 and don't need replacing like regular pants. The tunics also fit a wide range of sizes, I am down 47 pounds and still am wearing the same ones I bought right after surgery.

I just throw on some riding boots and a necklace and I look put together even though I feel like I am wearing my jammies. Hope this helps someone.

I started my weight loss journey with the gastric sleeve on August 3, 2016. I have hit several stalls along the way, but I have embraced them for what they are. Never let anyone tell you that you are taking the easy way out!! It is by no means EASY! It is painful because you have a major operation, you mourn the loss of your best friend, food, and you experience different side effects like malnutrition (in the beginning), Constipation, and being cold all the time. But I would do it all over again to feel as amazing as I do now!!!!

I figured out a way to easily monitor my Protein intake without guessing if I am getting enough.
The cups shown above holds 2 oz of liquid so
I poured my Isopure of the day in each cup
    A full bottle = 10 cups
So every hour or 30 min I drink a cup
I also am doing this with my Water.
I think this is an easy way for me to keep track so I thought I share.

My pre op diet is 3 Protein shakes a day and lots of green leafy vegetables. I fill up on big bowls of salad greens with about a tablespoon of vinaigrette. That helps with the craving to chew something

live2ride reacted to Revconguy in Sleeve and hernia repair on Monday
Greetings! I finally had my sleeve done on Monday (11/28). My surgeon also did a hernia repair near my navel. I suspected something wasn't quite right as my navel looked a little asymmetric. I've had no shoulder gas pain to nausea to speak of. However, my abdomen feels like I did 1000 sit-up in one sitting. The pain is pretty bad. I'm thinking the surgeon may have had to cut some muscle when he repaired the hernia. Any others have hernia repair done at the same time? I "think" the pain is getting a little better but I may just be trying to talk myself into thinking there is less pain. The thing I'm missing the most is soda crackers. Pre-sugery, I was addicted to eating soda crackers with fruit juice. While I'm enjoying my sugar-free popsicles, I hate this Clear liquids phase. Tomorrow, I get to start my Protein Drinks and I can't wait!

Day 1 of my 2 week pre-op diet! So far so good
I'm allowed 2 Protein Shakes, 1 Soup and 2 Snacks per day. Hoping I can fill up on Water and Decaf tea in between.
Anyone have suggestions or ideas that might make this easier, I'm open to hearing them.
